Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

Max Silver raised to 12,000 in middle position, and Scott Hilton three-bet to 36,000 in late position. It folded back to Silver, and he moved all in, having Hilton covered. Hilton called, and Silver was not happy to see his cards.

Silver: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Hilton: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

Hilton had Silver in bad shape, and the board ran out {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {5-Hearts}. Hilton doubled up, and Silver took the hit to his stack.

Player Interview: Chip Leader Michael Krasienko

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Michael Krasienko
Michael Krasienko

Michael Krasienko started Day 3 with about 460k ... and the flu. He started feeling sick late in Day 2 and was hoping a good night's sleep would help. It didn't.

Nothing's worse than sitting through a 12-hour day at the tables, playing the premier event of the year, when you feel awful. But that's not stopping Krasienko. He's using the adrenaline that comes with playing the Main Event and nearing the money to push him through.

PokerNews found Krasienko as players were headed into the last break of the evening to ask him his secret to overtaking the chip lead and his plans for the rest of the day.

Krasienko: Basically, I played tight most of the day, made some hands, and ran pretty well.

PokerNews: Any big or memorable hands that stand out from the day.

Krasienko: There was this one hand where my opponent started with about 180,000. I raised with pocket eights, and he called.

The flop came {k-}{k-}{x-}. I bet, and he called. {8-} was dealt on the turn. I checked and my opponent bet. I raised, and he jammed. I obviously called and knocked him out. He had {A-}{K-}.

That was my biggest pot of the day. But mainly, I've been playing solid, picking my spots, and was lucky to get a few bluffs through.

PokerNews: You had four cashes in this year's WSOP and a deep run in the Main Event last year, finishing 343rd. How much poker do you play?

Krasienko: I play mostly PLO cash games. My first main event was last year, and I don't play much no-limit, just in tournaments.

PokerNews: What about the Main Event is enticing to a PLO player like you?

Krasienko: It's such a great tournament. It's the best tournament in the world. The best structure. The best field. I just really enjoyed it when I played it last year, so here I am. Outside of this pretty much all I play is PLO cash.

PokerNews: What's your plan for the last level of the day?

Krasienko: I just sat down at a new table, but it looks like it will be a little tougher. That's what happens as the field whittles down. My previous table was a little tough too; I was just lucky to capitalize in few good spots.

Actually, most of my tables have been tough. Some harder than others, but when you're running good, then good things happen.

I'm going to feel the table out and see how they're playing. Mostly, I'm just going to play my game, and play solid poker. Nobody's super short, so I just need to keep it solid and see what happens.

More to the Mix

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Alexandra Janikova, primarily a poker dealer in Europe, is on summer vacation and jumped into the Main Event. She currently has an above-average stack on a table that also includes Martin Finger and Javier Garcia Reynaldos.

Nicolas Chouity and Michael Song are in that section, as well, while Artur Koren and Justin Liberto have chipped up in the current level.

De Meulder Joins World Series of Quads

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Matthias De Meulder
Matthias De Meulder

Four-of-a-kind hands have been running rampant throughout the 2017 WSOP Main Event. Matthias De Meulder recently jumped on the bandwagon to make some quads of his own and move up to nearly a million chips.

De Meulder opened with {8-}{8-} from under the gun, and both the cutoff and small blind called.

The flop was {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and the small blind bet out 13.000. De Meulder called, and the cutoff folded. De Meulder filled up on the {4-Diamonds} turn, and the small blind check-called 28,000 from the Belgian. De Meulder improved to quads on the {8-} river, and the small blind checked again. This time, De Meulder opted for a bet of 54,000 and got the value he was looking for as his opponent called him down.

Senat Doubles With Big Call

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Paul Senat called an all-in wager for what turned out to be 227,000 in a pot that already contained well over 300,000 chips. The board read {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and Senat showed down {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a set, besting the {a-Spades}{10-} shown down by his opponent. Senat stood up and clapped, pumping his fist in celebration.

Clint Tolbert Wins With Aces

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Three players saw a {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, and each put in 18,500 chips to continue to the turn. It was the {7-Diamonds}, and the action checked to Clint Tolbert, who bet 64,500. Ibrahim Nasief called. The river was the {4-Diamonds}, and Nasief checked. Tolbert bet 112,000, and Nasief called.

Tolbert showed two aces, {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, and Nasief mucked.

Cindy Kerslake Finds a Much-Needed Double

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Cindy Kerslake was halfway out of her chair, all in for her tournament life. Kerslake held {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} in the hijack, up against the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} of Christoph Vogelsang in middle position.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and Kerslake's jacks were good for a double-up.

Jin Takes from Akkari

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Andre Akkari raised from early position and picked up three callers — Jessica Ngu, Wenlong Jin, and the big blind.

On the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop, the big blind checked, and Akkari bet 18,000. Ngu folded, Jin called, and the big blind also folded. After the {4-Hearts} turn, Akkari made it 34,000 to go, and his opponent called. Akkari slowed down and checked the {8-Spades} on the river. Jin bet 95,000, and Akkari went into the think tank for more than two minutes before electing to fold.

Gaviao Doubles

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jonathan Gaviao has been patiently waiting for his spot and finally found it, as he got in preflop for 57,500 from early position with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, someone woke up with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} behind him.
