Mustafov Spinning It Up

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Not long ago Fahredin Mustafov was down to just one big blind. Since then, he has won a number of all-ins to climb back into contention.

Mustafov moved all in for 520,000 in the small blind and was called by Michael Rocco in the big blind.

Fahredin Mustafov: K5 All in
Michael Rocco: J8

Mustafov was marginally ahead and held on the A76103 runout to secure his first double.

On the very next hand, Mustafov shoved for 1,100,000 on the button and, as before, it was Rocco who looked him up out of the small blind.

Fahredin Mustafov: AQ All in
Michael Rocco: 66

This time it was a flip but Mustafov prevailed once more after pairing up on the 4Q102J runout to regain a workable stack.

Reard Rivers a Full House

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Alexandre Reard opened to 160,000 from the cutoff and Aram Zobian defended his big blind.

On the 752 flop, both players checked to the 7 turn. Zobian led for 145,000, and Reard called.

A 9 fell on the river and Zobian fired another bet of 230,000. Reard then raised to 975,000, and after some thinking, Zobian called.

Reard tabled 97 for a full house, and Zobian mucked.

Zobian Fires Three Streets into Rash

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Aram Zobian opened the cutoff to 160,000 and Connor Rash called from the big blind.

They saw a flop of QA2 which Rash checked, Zobian bet 120,000, and Rash called.

On the 5 turn, Rash checked for a second time, and Zobian sized up to 550,000. Rash called again.

A Q completed the board and Rash again checked, then Zobian fired the third barrel of 1,150,000. Rash thought about it for a while but chose to fold.

James Chen Eliminated in 10th Place ($60,315)

James Chen

Adrian Mateos opened to 160,000 in the hijack and James Chen jammed 1,000,000 next to act. The action quickly folded back to Mateos and he made the call.

James Chen: A5 All in
Adrian Mateos: 99

The 764 flop gave Chen some extra outs with an open-ended straight draw. The 9 turn improved Mateos to a set of nines and the A river meant Chen was headed to the payout desk in tenth place.

Mustafov Triples Up, Chen Caught Bluffing

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Fahredin Mustafov opened to 160,000 from under the gun, leaving himself just 40,000 behind. Adrian Mateos then three-bet to 325,000 out of the small blind only to see James Chen come in with the cold four-bet out of the big blind for 900,000. Mustafov called off for his remaining chips while Mateos, after lengthy deliberation, chose to flat.

Mateos led out for 300,000 following the 9Q10 flop. Chen responded with a raise to 775,000 but that did not deter Mateos, who moved all in. Chen somewhat sheepishly showed 63 as he tossed his hand away.

Fahredin Mustafov: 95 All in
Adrian Mateos: AA

Mustafov had flopped a pair, yet was still well behind the pocket rockets of Mateos. The 5 turn, however, improved the at risk player to two pair with the 3 river changing nothing to hand the main pot to Mustafov while Mateos was forced to settle for the sidepot.

"Two pair always better than one pair," exclaimed Mustafov after there was some confusion from the dealer as to who had won the hand.

Rash Rivers a Pair of Tens

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Connor Rash opened 160,000 in the cutoff and both Aram Zobian and Brad Albrinck called in the blinds.

All three players checked to the Q928 turn, where Zobian check-folded to a bet of 365,000 from Albrinck and Rash made the call.

The 10 fell on the river and both players tapped the table. Rash rolled 107 for a busted straight draw that made a pair of tens, and Albrinck pushed his cards face down toward the dealer.

Mateos Doubles, Leaves Mustafov With One Big Blind

Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos opened from under the gun to 160,000 and Fahredin Mustafov shoved from the button. The blinds folded, then Mateos called off his stack of 1,155,000.

Fahredin Mustafov: JJ

The two had very similar stacks but it was Mateos who was at risk, but he held a big lead with his pocket kings. That lead was never taken away from the Spaniard as the 795106 runout earned him a double-up, and left Mustafov with just 100,000 chips.

Two in a Row for Rocco

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Michael Rocco opened 120,000 in the cutoff and James Chen defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of A65, and Chen check-called a continuation bet of 165,000.

The 8 fell on the turn and both players checked to the J river, where they checked once again. Chen rolled 84 for a pair of eights and Rocco took down the pot with J10 for a pair of jacks.

Action continued on the following hand.

Rocco opened the hijack to 120,000 and Fahredin Mustafov came along in the big blind.

Both players checked to the Q7583 river where Mustafov bet 60,000 and Rocco quickly called.

Mustafov tabled K3 for king-high and Rocco tabled K7 to win with a pair of sevens.
