Cruel River for Mercer

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Bradley Mercer jammed for 1,270,000 from the button, and he was called by Charles Alex-Barton in the big blind.

Bradley Mercer: AK All in
Charles Alex-Barton: K9

Both players hit top pair on the 86K, but Mercer was still in the lead.

He had to avoid clubs, and that's what happened with the 3 turn. But the Q river completed Alex-Barton's flush and Mercer was eliminated.

Garcia Stacks Hamilton

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Joe Hamilton
Joe Hamilton

Adrian Garcia opened from middle position to 240,000 and Joe Hamilton shoved from the small blind for around 1,100,000. The big blind folded, and Garcia made the call which put Hamilton at risk.

Joe Hamilton: 77 All in
Adrian Garcia: AK

Hamilton's rail exploded with encouragement in this flip situation.

"Seven, seven!" they shouted.

There wasn't a seven on the flop but instead it improved Garcia to trips as the dealer put 10KK onto the baize. More cries of "seven" came from the rail but neither the 6 turn nor Q river could save Hamilton from elimination.

Franchi Straightens Tsou Out

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

James Tsou was already all in for approximately 1,700,000 from the small blind against Malcolm Franchi, who had Tsou slightly covered from the cutoff.

James Tsou: 99All in
Malcolm Franchi: AQ

The 910J flop upgraded Tsou to a set of nines, but gave Franchi an open-ended straight draw.

The 6 turn changed nothing, but the 8 river filled Franchi's draw to end Tsou's Main Event run.

Byrnes Among the Latest Players to Bow Out

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Down to just 600,000 in chips and under the gun, William Byrnes moved all-in and was flat-called by Malo Latinois while the rest of the table folded.

William Byrnes: J3 All in
Malo Latinois: AJ

The A105 flop left Byrnes on thin ice but he gained some hope with the 4 turn. A brick followed with the 9 river to send Byrnes to the payout desk.

Soon after, Oren Haziza and Troy Quenneville were also knocked out and the field dropped below 100 hopefuls a few minutes later.

Russell's Heater Continues After Eliminating Chaume

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Charles Russell has been on a bit of a heater over the last 30 minutes and has added yet more chips to his stack after eliminating Olivier Chaume.

Chaume shoved from middle position for 1,240,000 and Russell made the call from the big blind.

Olivier Chaume: A5 All in
Charles Russell: A7

Chaume was slightly behind but there was a good chance that the hand ended in a chop, especially after the A8Q flop. The 2 turn didn't help Chaume, and neither did the 4 river as Russell's kicker played.

Serock Sends Pham Out

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

David Dibernardi opened to 240,000 from early position and Hai Pham shoved for approximately 1,300,000 from middle position. Joe Serock called cold on the button and Dibernardi got out of the way.

Hai Pham: Q9All in
Joe Serock: KK

Pham would need some serious help to double up, but the 44QJJ runout wasn't enough and Serock collected the rest of Pham's chips with his kings.

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Casey Stewart moved all in for 1,450,000 from the hijack and Gerardo Hernandez called in the small blind.

Casey Stewart: 109 All in
Gerardo Hernandez: KK

Hernandez had woken up with kings to leave Stewart at serious risk of elimination. The flop came 7QQ, while the A turn gave Stewart some hope with a flush draw.

"It's never easy," Hernandez said, but he dodged the 6 river to take the pot and send Stewart to the rail.

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Charles Russell

In a hand that went deep into the break, there were around 3,000,000 chips in the pot on a board of 852Q5 when Charles Russell had shoved. Rolands Norietis had around 3,800,000 in his stack and was in the tank well after all of the other tables had gone on break. After a several minutes in the tank, Norietis flicked in a single chip to make the call.

Russell tabled 22 for a full house, and Norietis flipped 108, which meant he was eliminated.
