Marcadet Risks It All

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Daniel Kirsch opened to 16,000 from under the gun and Yulian Bogdanov three-bet to 48,000 from early position. Christopher Marcadet then four-bet jammed for 204,000 in late position. The two blinds, Max Kingstone and Emil Gramatikov, were both short stacks and, fairly or not, decided to stall for several minutes with very clear cut decisions. Other players at the table had to call the clock on both of them in succession to get things moving on.

Once the action was finally back on Kirsch, he quickly got out of the way. Bogdanov took a couple of moments before deciding not to put his opponent at risk, awarding the pot to Marcadet

Tkatschew Rivers a Boat to Scoop 1,600,000-Chip Pot

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Alexander Tkatschew

A huge pot was brewing with around 500,000 chips in the middle between Jimmy Gorham and Alexander Tkatschew. The board read Q10K7 and Tkatschew thought about it for a while before making a bet of 250,000, which Gorham called.

On the Q river, Tkatschew again took his time before he announced a bet of 350,000. Before Tkatschew could even put the chips into the pot, Gorham had made the call.

Tkatschew tabled KK for a full house, and Gorham didn't seem happy.

"So sick," remarked Gorham as he tabled AK for the nut flush. Gorham started the day with over 1,200,000 in chips but now sits with under 400,000 after that huge pot in the opening level.

Datloff Tests Ivanov

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The big action continued at Table 539 in Orange section as it has been the action table thus far. The pot had about 250,000 in it on the river with the board showing, Q5810A.

From early position, Justin Datloff placed a full stack of greens for a bet of 500,000, which was for the rest of Lyudmil Ivanov's stack. Ivanov thought it out from the big blind as the bubble was rapidly approaching and he needed to decide if he wanted to risk his remaining 47 big blinds.

Eventually he found a fold to put Datloff over 2 million.

Ruan Doubles Through Dean

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jiayu Ruan raised and Patrick Curzio then tanked with a short stack. The clock was called on him and he eventually folded, showing his cards to his table neighbor. Donovan Dean moved all in thereafter and Ruan called all in for 135,000.

Donovan Dean: 33

The board ran out Q52710 and Ruan doubled. "I am not here to min-cash," the player from China said.

In the meanwhile, Curzio mentioned he had folded kings and that was indeed the case as he had let go of the KK and would have been eliminated.

Ciccarelli Makes Runner-Runner Boat to Crack Aces on Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

As the tournament prepared for hand-for-hand play, a player in middle position opened to 16,000 as John Ciccarelli called on the button before Collin Calloway bet 55,000 in the big blind with just 1,000 behind. The initial raiser folded and Ciccarelli called.

Calloway checked on the flop of K58 and Ciccarelli bet 1,000 to put his opponent all in. Calloway went deep into the tank and eyed the tournament room before someone eventually called the clock. He let his 30 seconds run down and then slammed in his final chip.

Collin Calloway: AA All in
John Ciccarelli: 108

Calloway's aces were ahead of his opponent's middle pair, but things quickly changed as the 10 turn gave Ciccarelli two pair and the 10 added insult to injury as he improved to a full house to put a cruel beat on Calloway, who was visibly frustrated after being eliminated just a few spots off the money.

Pasquale Not Backing Down as Bubble Nears

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Frank Pasquale caught up with PokerNews to recap a hand he was involved in right before hand-for-hand play began.

According to Pasquale, he raised to 17,000 in the cutoff with AK and was three-bet by Stephen Dauphinais on the button to 37,000. Pasquale tanked and flatted, and the two went to a flop of K93.

Pasquale check-called a bet of 26,000 from Dauphinais, bringing the 2 turn. With four clubs on the board, Pasquale checked again and Dauphinais bet 51,000. Pasquale then came over the top with a raise to 110,000, resulting in a snap fold from Dauphinais.

Pasquale then quickly tabled his hand and said "I don't care about the 15k, don't play games with me," as he dragged in the pot.
