Action picked up in a preflop hand with a player all in against Gianluca Cabitza, who had his opponent covered.
The cards were then tabled.
All-In Player: 10♣10♥
Gianluca Cabitza: K♥K♣
The dealer fanned 5♦8♥3♥ on the flop, keeping Cabitza’s bigger pocket pair in the lead. The 6♥ on the turn, followed by 8♠ on the river gave Cabitza the win and sent his opponent to the rail.
On a board of 10♥7♥4♦K♥3♦, there were around 20,000 chips in the pot when Patrick Liang fired 28,000 into the middle. His opponent from the big blind had been in the tank for around six minutes according to the table before the clock was eventually called. Once the floor arrived, the 30-second countdown began and as it hit zero, there was no action from the big blind so his hand was declared dead.
"That was the toughest decision of my life," said the big blind before he folded.
A player in first position opened to 3,500 which saw a player in early position three-bet to 11,000. After some confusion about what the intent of his sizing was meant to be, action folded around to Terry Williams in the small blind who moved all in for 40,500 which saw only the early position player call.
Terry Williams: A♥A♠
Opponent: K♣K♦
The board ran out J♠8♥6♦7♥2♥ and the aces held up for Williams to double up.
Cecile Ticherfatine scored a knockout when she won a flop with K♦Q♣ versus 6♠6♣ and she jumped to three times the starting stack. Further assorted counts can be found below.
The player in the hijack shoved for his last 14,000 and it was folded to Brent Hanks on the button, who also went all in for more. Everyone else got out of the way and a showdown was held.
Hijack: A♦8♠
Brent Hanks: A♣K♥
The 5♣3♥K♦ flop left Hanks' opponent all but drawing dead and the 7♣10♣ runout confirmed the knockout to send the pot Hanks' way.
"It's been a rough one, but we're still alive," Hanks said after collecting the pot.
There was a large pot of 90,000 in the middle already on a flop of Q♦5♠8♠. The button bet 55,000 and Albert Luna was in early position as he jammed all in for 143,000.
The button went into a deep tank as the shove was for over 90% of his chips. After a solid 3 minutes, he decided to call.
Button: K♥K♦
Albert Luna: A♥A♣
The turn was the 4♦ and the river the 10♥ as Luna gathered the huge pot.
The next hand he collected another one with a 20,000 value bet on the end with AxKx on a king high board which got a call as his chio surge continued.
Hon Cheong "Ivan" Lee raised to 3,500 from an early position and the small blind three-bet to 11,000. Lee then jammed and the small blind asked for a count.
"Around thirty five," Lee responded and his shove was counted to be for 39,500. The small blind called with the A♠K♦ and had "two flush draws" against Lee's A♥K♥.
Both chopped it up after a board of A♣7♦2♥4♦J♥ and the small blind bemoaned "why can't you have kings?"
With 20,000 chips in the pot on a board of 2♥3♥6♥8♣2♣, Ethan Yau was a facing a bet of 11,000 from the player in the big blind. It took all of two seconds for Yau to make the call.
The big blind confidently tabled 8♥7♦ for a pair of eights, but Yau flipped K♠8♠ for eights with a king kicker, which earned him the pot.
Matthew Bretzfield raised to 3,000 in early position and Ryan Leng called in middle position. Mathieu Boucher then three-bet to 13,000 in the hijack and both Bretzfield and Leng called.
The flop came 9♦J♦5♠ and Boucher moved all in for 37,000. Only Leng called.
Mathieu Boucher: A♠J♠
Ryan Leng: 9♠8♠
Boucher was ahead with top pair as the A♣ fell on the turn to improve him to two pair. The river was the K♠ and Boucher doubled up.
"I got it in bad, stayed bad," Leng said after the hand.
This table also includes Andrew Day, Conrad Simpson, and Daniel Mulhall. "I won the Borgata Winter Open in 2009 for $63K. Still have some left over," Mulhall said.
"I was in the big blind," Day added, trying to join in on the action of the last pot.
"You came across the funnest table of the day," another tablemate added.
