Matusow Flops a Set, Doesn't Get Paid

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

James Sgro opened to 5,000 from middle position and then called after Mike Matusow three-bet to 12,000 out of the small blind.

Matusow continued for 15,000 following the Q9J flop. Sgro thought for a while before deciding to lay down his hand and was rewarded with some good news from Matusow as he flipped over QQ for the flopped set, telling Sgro that he had opted for a large sizing as he thought his opponent held jacks for a lower set.

Jaka Bombs the River

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Action was picked up on the flop with a board showing 1082 with about 11,000 in the pot.

After the flop a player in early position checked to Faraz Jaka on the button, who also checked to see a turn.

Once the K on the turn hit, Jaka's opponent bet 3,000, and Jaka made the call to see a river,

The K on the river completed the board, and the player in early position checked to Jaka, who over the bet the pot, firing out 20,000. After spending over a minute debating his decision, the player in early position mucked his hand and gave the pot to Jaka.
