Jaka Digs Deep to Make Call

Level 51 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

Faraz Jaka raised 50,000 after looking down at AK, and faced resistance from Nikolai Mamut, who called with 98.

The dealer fanned 1086 on the flop, and both players checked. The turn saw J on the board, and once again both players checked.

The fireworks, however, happened on the river when the dealer placed A on the board.

Mamut led out with a small 25,000 bet, and then Jaka raised 100,000. Mamut fired back with his own raise of 400,000, which pushed the pot to 600,000.

Jaka was methodical in his decision, using a couple of time bank chips before putting chips in the middle.

“Nice call,” Mamut said, as the dealer pushed the pot to Jaka, whose pair of Aces took down the hand.

New WSOP Online Poker Site Merges Three US States; 30 Online Bracelet Events Scheduled

Level 51 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
WSOP.com
WSOP.com

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is making a move that will change the online poker game in the US with the launch of WSOP Online, a new platform that will bring players from three states together.

Poker players in Nevada and New Jersey are already competing against each other on WSOP.com, while those in Michigan have a separate single-state site. But that is changing with the trio of states being merged together on one online poker site ahead of the 2024 WSOP. Pennsylvania's WSOP site will not be part of the shared liquidity deal.

On top of the merger news, the WSOP has announced 30 online bracelet events this summer on the new WSOP Online.

Mamut Adds More of Jaka's Chips

Level 49 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Faraz Jaka peeked down at 106 on the button and raised to 32,000.

Nikolai Mamut looked down at AQ and re-raised to 120,000, which Jaka called.

The dealer placed 9K9 on the flop, keeping Mamut ahead and he made a continuation bet of 60,000, which Jaka called, putting the pot at 360,000.

The 5 on the turn slowed down Mamut, who checked. Jaka, though, responded with a 250,000 bet. Mamut took a brief moment before making the call. The A showed up on the river, giving Mamut a hammerlock on the hand.

Mamut made a small 12,000 bet into a pot of 860,000, forcing Jaka to muck his cards.
