Allen Runs Into A Straight on the Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

John Allen was seen in a tough spot after Ardit Kurshumi in the small blind moved all-in with a bigger stack on a board of 28QJA.

According to Kurshumi, Allen opened to 18,000 from middle position and called when Kurshumi three-bet to 48,000.

Kurshumi continued for 36,000 then fired a second barrel of 65,000. Allen called both times.

Once on the river, Kurshumi shoved and Allen went into the tank for several minutes, standing up and sitting down a few times. He eventually made the call for his last 149,000.

Allen called with a set, but he ran into Kurshumi's straight and was eliminated on the bubble. The 1,306 remaining players are in the money and secured a minimum cash-prize of $3,001.
