Paul Birman raised from under the gun and Basel Chaura called from one seat over. The 8♥5♠3♣ flop saw Birman with a bet worth 1,200 and Chaura called before the former checked and subsequently check-called the 9♠ turn for 2,500. Birman led the 6♥ river for 7,400 and Chaura folded.

On the first hand of Day 2d, Natalie Ramos moved all in for 14,500 from the button and Chad McMahon called in the small blind.

Ramos was dominated but she smacked the 10♠K♠J♣ flop by hitting the Broadway straight. The J♠ turn also gave her a draw to a Royal Flush, but McMahon spiked the J♦ on the river to make a full house.
"Wow. First hand. I hope that's how the day is going to be," McMahon said as Ramos wished the table luck after a brief appearance here today.

David Dean was in the cutoff and raised to 2,400 and the big blind defended. The flop came out 9♦2♦8♠ and both players checked through.
The turn brought the J♣ and Dean placed a delayed continuation bet of 3,000 and the big blind made the call.
On the river 2♣ the big blind decided to make a move and placed a bet of 4,000. Dean thought for a second and called. The big blind insisted Dean show his cards first and he flipped over K♥J♠ which apparently was the winner as the big blind mucked.

Viktor Blom raised from the button, Patryk Slusarek three-bet from the small blind to 6,400 and Blom four-bet to 17,600. Slusarek called.
On a flop of 3♠3♥J♣, Slusarek check-called a bet of 8,600 from Blom.
The turned 8♥ saw Slusarek check once again. Blom bet out for 14,600 and Slusarek raised all in for 41,600. After receiving a count, Blom made the call.

Suresh Prabhu and Justin Petersen were heads-up on a board of 6♠2♥8♠K♥ when Petersen, in the cutoff, bet 3,000.
Prabhu came back with a raise in early position to 9,000 and Petersen called. The river came the Q♠ and Prabhu led out for 12,000.
"Ah, spades," Petersen said, letting out a loud sigh before mucking his hand.

Benjamin Gross raised 1,800 under the gun and only Scott Hempel made the call from the hijack.
The dealer fanned a flop of A♠A♥8♠, and both players tapped the table.
When the 2♠ fell on the turn, Hempel tossed in a bet of 2,200 and Gross made the call.
The J♦ hit the river before Hempel fired another bet of 2,800. Gross paused for a moment and made the call. Hempel rolled over his A♣9♣ for trip aces, and Gross mucked his hand.

With millions of dollars at stake, famous rapper Hoodie Allen left Day 2abc of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event early because his friend's wedding across the country was more important to him.
Allen, whose real name is Steven Markowitz, the way it appears in the WSOP chip counts and on the PokerNews live reporting updates, is an avid poker player. He has appeared on Hustler Casino Live in Los Angeles multiple times and is seeking his first WSOP cash.

In a three-way pot with close to 13,000 in the middle on a board showing A♥7♦8♣2♦, a player in the big blind checked to the player in middle position who also checked. Minh Nguyen bet out 8,000 in the hijack and only the big blind made the call.
On the 10♥ river the big blind checked again and Nguyen took his time before sliding out a bet of 22,000. The big blind quickly let his cards go and the pot was shipped to Nguyen without showdown.
