O'Neill Turns a Knockout

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jack O'Neill had raised to 10,000 from middle position when an early position player reraised to 38,000 all in. O'Neill considered the all in while other players at his table goaded him. He found the call, and saw that he was behind.

Early Position: AQ
Jack O'Neill: AJ

The 8Q10 flop gave the early position player top pair, but also gave O'Neill plenty of opportunities to turn the tables. One of them hit immediately on the turn, K, and the early position player rationalized as he stood up, "It's okay. I wanted you to call." A 2 river made the bust out official.

"Call this one 'O'Neill Gets It in Bad and Gets Lucky'," suggested another player to a round of laughs.

Somerville Cracks Aces on the Flop to Double

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jason Somerville and Diego Ventura built a pot of around 70,000 heading to the turn on a board of K342 when Somerville, in early position, bet 30,000.

Ventura, to his direct left, then moved all in and Somerville snap-called for around 30,000 more. Ventura showed AA, but Somerville had outflopped him with KK for top set.

The 3 fell on the river and Somerville secured the double up while leaving Ventura on a short stack.

"I'm Not Busting The Main Event"

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

6-time WSOP bracelet winner Brian Hastings raised to 7,000 in the small blind and in the big blind, young gun Michael Jozoff called.

The flop rolled out J9Q and Hastings continued for 10,000 which Jozoff called.

On the 10 turn, Hastings bet again, this time to the tune of 12,000 and Jozoff called once more.

The river peeled off a 7 and Hastings moved all in for 81,200 effective and Jozoff went into the tank.

"In theory I need to call," Jozoff lamented "but I do not want to."

After some more time passed, he tossed his hand into the muck and Hastings took down the pot.

"I'm not busting the main event," Jozoff stated "not like that."
