Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

The 2020 WSOP Main Event winner Damian Salas has been hovering around the same stack for an extended period. He just opened to 2,200 and earned a single caller, who then check-called Salas' continuation bet on the A98 flop for 2,100. Both checked the 4 turn and the 2 fell on the river.

It checked to Salas and his bet worth 5,100 won the pot uncontested.

Sewnig Gets Value on the River

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 2,400, Shaun Deeb in the hijack called, as did Daniel Sewnig in the big blind.

The hand checked down to the river as the full board now read 569A4. Sewnig took the lead with a bet of 6,000, which the original raiser called and Deeb folded.

Sewnig tabled 65 for a flopped two-pair which sent his opponent's card to the muck.

Hanna Takes It on the Turn

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Hayley Hanna
Hayley Hanna

Haylay Hanna has been slowly chipping up throughout the day and just added some more chips without showdown. Ben Diebold had defended against her raise and check-called a bet of 2,500 on the 773 flop. Once the A appeared on the turn, Diebold checked once more and Hanna's second barrel for 6,000 took it down right there.

Ausmus Hits the Rail

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jeremy Ausmus
Jeremy Ausmus

As relayed to PokerNews from the players at his table, Jeremy Ausmus was recently eliminated.

Ausmus, who was already short-stacked starting the hand with about 11,000, moved all in from the button with 10x9x offsuit, and was called by Steven Madsen in the big blind, who had Ax4x suited.

The board offered no improvement for Ausmus, ending his main event run while Madsen collected his chips.

Aguero Takes His Game from the Pitch to the Felt

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Sergio Aguero
Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero is one of the most famous footballers from Argentina, behind Messi of course, and he made his home in the Premiere League for roughly 10 years with Manchester City. Now Aguero finds himself on a different kind of green felt at the poker table on Day 2abc of the WSOP Main Event. PokerNews decided to hang around and catch a few hands with the football star.

Hand #1:

Dustin Holladay opened to 2,500 in the hijack and Aguero called on his left along with both of the blinds. The flop came Q94 and Holladay continued with a bet of 4,600 which only Aguero called.

The turn was the 3 and both players checked to the 7 on the river. Holladay fired out a bet of 15,000 and Aguero called after some deliberation. Holladay tabled 107 for a flush while Aguero could only muster a pair with QJ.

Hand #2:

Aguero took a few hands off before his big blind rolled around. Brandon Williams raised to 2,500 in early position and both Holladay and Aguero called in the blinds. The flop fell Q102 and Williams continued with a bet of 3,500. Holladay called and Aguero stepped aside.

The turn brought the 6 and Holladay check-called a bet of 10,000 from Williams. The 9 completed the board and Holladay checked again. Williams over-bet jammed all in, putting Holladay to the test for his remaining 75,000 chips. Holladay thought for a minute and then stuck in some chips to call. Williams tabled 87 for a backdoor straight while Holladay hit the rail with AQ.

Hand #3:

Two hands later, Alan Munoz raised to 2,500 from under the gun and Aguero flat-called on the button. They went heads-up to a flop of J106 and Munoz led out with a bet of 2,500. Aguero raised to 15,000 and Munoz said that was too much.

"Ten thousand?" Munoz pleaded and Aguero jokingly took some chips back. Munoz folded and Aguero was shipped the pot.

"No more flushes," Aguero said quietly.

Liu Gets Raised On The River

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Chipleader of his table, Xiaohu Liu opened to 2,500 from the hijack, and he was only called by Ethan Bennett in the big blind.

On the flop K97, Liu bet 1,700, and was called once again by Bennett. Then on the turn 5, both players checked.

The river brought the A, and Liu added 2,500 chips to the pot. However, Bennett decided to check-raise to 8,000. Liu called, and expressed his disappointment when Bennett showed him 99 for a set. "I had AxKx" said Liu, who still maintains a big stack.
