Day 1c is in full swing with action taking place in every room right now throughout the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas casinos. An estimated 2,150 players have registered for the third flight thus far and they are heading on their first 20-minute break of the day. Here is a look at some of the highlights from the opening level:

Stammen Takes Control of the Button

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The player under the gun raised to 500, a player in early position called, and the button, Keven Stammen, three-bet to 2,500. He was called by both players.

The flop came out 4A5 and both of the early position players checked to Stammen, who made a continuation bet of 4,000. The player under the gun folded reluctantly and the early position player called.

Both players checked the 5 turn.

The river brought more action with the 6. Stammen bet 10,000. The early position player thought for a minute and called. Stammen showed the AQ for two pair and the early position player mucked.

Jordan Flops a Set and Gets Paid

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Santiago Trujillo opened to 500 from middle position and received a call from Edward Jordan in the cutoff. A player in the small blind three-bet to 1,700 and received a call from both Trujillo and Jordan.

The flop came Q47. The small blind checked, Trujillo bet 2,100 and both opponents called.

Action checked around to Jordan on the K turn who bet 6,000. Trujillo folded and the player in the small blind made the call.

Both remaining players checked the 2 river. The small blind showed AK for top pair, top kicker while Jordan tabled a 77 for a flopped set to take the pot.

Nemeth Chips Up Without Showdown

After an open from the player under the gun to 600, Andras Nemeth raised it up to 2,000 in early position. Seated on his left, Jonathan Ricciardi called, as well as the initial raiser.

On the flop 8710, all three players checked to see the turn 8, where Nemeth bet 2,200. Ricciardi called, but not the player under the gun.

Brown Takes it Down

On a four-way turn of 7583, there was around 9,000 in the pot when Richard Brown led out for 4,500.

This produced two folds and only one call from Kevin Foley to see the river 10.

Brown thought for a few seconds before he fired again for 8,000 and the action went over to Foley who tanked for a full minute before he decided to let it go.

Van Doesburg Gets Queens Through

Bert Van Doesburg raised from the hijack position and both the blinds came along for the ride. The flop came out 447 and Van Doesburg made a continuation bet of 600 and the small blind made the call.

Both players checked the turn 9.

The river 6 brought the small blind to life with a bet of 1,500 and Van Doesburg raised to 6,000. The small blind went deep into the think tank, then called and mucked when Van Doesburg showed the QQ overpair.

Huge Double for Wojtuniecki

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

In a pot that was four-bet and called preflop and on a flop of 457, Philip Wojtuniecki jammed for 44,400 into a pot of a little over 50,000.

His late position opponent wasted no time in calling to put Wojtuniecki at risk and headed to a runout.

Wojtuniecki would only need to fade one of the two remaining kings in the deck to chip up in a massive way and when the turn and river came the J and 2, Wojtuniecki secured a big double early in Day 1c.

Berkey Gets Respect

Matt Berkey raised to 500 from under the gun and was called by a player in middle position and the player on the button.

Everyone checked on the 244 flop and then Berkey announced a bet of 800 on the 10 turn. Both of his opponents quickly folded and the poker academy founder took down the pot.
