Zhou Doubles Aces Versus Aces

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Christopher Frank and Quan Zhou got all of the chips into the middle preflop, with Zhou at risk.

Quan Zhou: AA83
Jordan Polk: AA84

Since both players had double-suited aces with basically the same danglers, it was still a flip as to whose suit would come on the board. As luck would have it, the board ran out 5109K3 to give Zhou a flush on the turn to double up.

Anderson Eliminated by Frank

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Calvin Anderson
Calvin Anderson

In four-way action to the QJ5 flop, the action checked to Calvin Anderson on the button and he bet the pot, sliding forward 250,000 in chips with fewer than that behind.

Brandon Adams in the small blind used three time bank extensions to fold while Andrew Ige folded swiftly out of the big blind. Christopher Frank moved all-in from under the gun and Anderson called for around 400,000.

Calvin Anderson: KQJ4
Christopher Frank: KQQ7

The J turn left Anderson with a single out and the A river ended his run just shy of the money. Iaroslav Boiko was also eliminated to bring the field down to the last 70 contenders.

No Back-To-Back PLO Titles for Garza

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Lou Garza
Lou Garza

The action made it all the way to the button where recent $10k PLO bracelet winner Lou Garza made it 75,000. The small blind folded and Jeremy Ausmus went into the tank. He thought for a moment before reraising pot, which would put Garza all in. Garza called.

Lou Garza: A103Q
Jeremy Ausmus: AK78

The 853J5 board gave Ausmus the nut flush. Garza would hit the rail before the money and miss out on a back-to-back bracelet opportunity.

Haxton Jams Into Azoulay

Level 16 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Joining the action on the 1074 flop, a bet by Jonathan Azoulay for 75,000 out of the small blind was called by Isaac Haxton on the button. The 4 fell on the turn and Azoulay now checked, which prompted a pot-sized bet worth 320,000 by Haxton and the reluctant call by Azoulay.

Fast forward to the 7 river, Azoulay checked again and Haxton bet the pot for 930,000. That had his opponent covered and Azoulay burned through all of his five available time banks before he folded and flashed the AJ5Xx for the ace-high flush.

Haxton briefly showed him pocket tens for a full house and Azoulay was relieved before heading into the Day 2 dinner break.

Maksimov Sends Zinno to the Rail

Level 16 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

Action folded to Anthony Zinno in the cutoff who opened to 54,000. Only Artem Maksimov in the big blind made the call.

The 953 landed on the flop and Maksimov led for 100,000. Zinno then went all in for around 340,000 and Maksimov called.

Anthony Zinno: A479
Artem Maksimov: AQ63

Maksimove would drill the nuts on the 10 turn and the 8 river would not bring Zinno any help. He would hit the rail on the soft bubble.
