Nerenberg Nails Turn and River to Bust Gryko

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Richard Gryko
Richard Gryko

Gregory Nerenberg arrived at his new table and didn't unrack his chips yet before he was involved in another all-in showdown.

On a flop of 1032, Richard Gryko was all-in with the 5433 for the middle set and a straight draw.

"What you have, a set of treys? Sh*t," Nerenberg said. He then started cheering for spades on the J turn.

"Wouldn't that be bad if I hit spades?" Nerenberg groaned and indeed hit the 5 on the river.

While Gryko was on the way out of the tournament area and to the payout desk, Nerenberg added "he is so mad ... what an idiot, middle set."

Also no longer in contention is Christopher Frank, as the field rapidly shrinks after the bubble had burst at the start of this level.

Weisman Busts Barriocanal

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Daniel Barriocanal
Daniel Barriocanal

On a heads-up flop of A57, Dylan Weisman moved all in to cover the shorter-stacked Daniel Barriocanal.

Barriocanal went into the tank for a bit before he finally moved all in to put himself at risk.

Daniel Barriocanal: AJ107
Dylan Weisman: K773

Barriocanal had flopped top two-pair, but unfortunately for him, Weisman had flopped a set of sevens. The board ran out 109 and was no help to Barriocanal and he was sent to the rail while Weisman increased his stack to 3,750,000.

The chips went flying on the KJ67 turn when Dylan Weisman ended up all-in and at risk for 1,200,000, and he was looked up by Gregory Nerenberg with the superior stack.

Dylan Weisman: AKQ7
Gregory Nerenberg: 8543

The wrap of Nerenberg missed with the J river completed the board and Firas Kashat then joked to Weisman "you hit the lotto, you know what that means?"

Kashat had even more words to share, this time for table neighbour Nerenberg. "Somebody was gonna get the fish ... you are the fish," he said straight to the face of Kashat.

No reply followed and the next hand unfolded.

Andjelko Andrejevic

Bryce Yockey opened to 110,000 from the button and Andjelko Andrejevic immediately three-bet to 355,000 from the small blind. The action folded back around to Yockey who made the call and the two went to a flop of A69.

Andrejevic led out for 100,000 and Yockey went deep into the tank as he only had 250,000 left in his stack.

After burning three time banks, he finally decided to let it go and the pot was awarded to Andrejevic.

The Next Batch of Casualties in the Money

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Table 113 was short-handed as Henry Hull and Fahredin Mustafov hit the rail. One of the bigger stacks before the money, Hull had to settle for a min cash while Bradley Anderson and Brandon Schaefer chipped up significantly. Dimitrios Michailidis and Ben Lamb arrived to balance the field, which has already dipped below 60 hopefuls.

Weisman Wins With a Boat

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Gregory Nerenberg and Firas Kashat apparently agreed to a deal that both take sips from their beverages at the same time and they were also involved in a three-way single-raised pot with Dylan Weisman. They checked all the way to the Q105Q6 river with Weisman checking first.

"I win," Weisman declared and Nerenberg inquired "how do you know?"

Weisman revealed the K1010Xx for tens full of queens and that was indeed a winner.

In the first hand of the new level, Quan Zhou raised to 65,000 in the hijack. Danny Hannawa jammed for 210,000 in the cutoff and Zhou called after brief consideration as both players already revealed their cards, then turned them over again until all other tables were completed.

Danny Hannawa: QQ88
Quan Zhou: 9532

The KJ3 flop gave Hannawa a flush draw while Zhou had the bottom pair. Two black cards followed with the 9 turn and 2 river to give Zhou two pair and let the bubble burst.
