Andorran, Hong Kong-based poker pro Ka Kwan Lau leads the way with a stack of 28,200,000 and is sitting in a great position to win his first WSOP gold bracelet. Known under his online moniker "kaju85", he is widely considered one of the best PLO tournament players around and came narrowly close to victory two years ago as he finished runner-up to Shaun Deeb in the same event. According to Hendon Mob, Lau has accrued more than $2.6 million in live poker events, and that also includes a 20th-place finish in the 2016 WSOP Main Event for $269,430.
Fellow Spanish-Speaker Sergio Martinez Gonzalez returns today with the second-highest chip count of 17,475,000 and this is already his biggest score to date as each player is already guaranteed a handsome payout of $505,588 for their performance in this event. His largest previous score was earlier this year at the EPT Paris back in February in the € 5,200 Pot Limit Omaha where he finished 3rd for $67,431.
The third European of the group, Mads Amot of Norway, is coming back sitting third in chips with 11,850,000. His largest score before this one is a $65,280 payout from placing 3rd in a WPT $3,200 PLO online event.
The two Americans of the group, Roger Teska and Andjelko Andrejevic complete the remaining five with 6,400,000 and 3,425,000, respectively.
Teska is well-known in the high-roller poker world with over $3.4 million in earnings, with the bulk of that stemming from taking down the $25,500 NLH partypoker Millions event in the Bahamas in 2018.
Andrejevic also has an impressive track record with almost $ 4.5 million in live cashes with his best score back in 2015 when he finished first in an Asian Pacific Tour Super High Roller NL event for $1,125,722.

Mads Amot raised the button with the K♠K♥10♠4♣ and was called by Ka Kwan Lau in the big blind, who had the J♦10♥7♥6♠.
They checked to the Q♣6♣2♦K♦ turn on which Lau check-called for 500,000 with his open-ended straight draw. That led to the Q♦ river on which Amot potted and Lau snap-folded.

Eric "Barstool Nate" Nathan had quite the adventure — injury, lost ID, the whole nine yards — getting to Las Vegas for the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP). PokerNews caught up with the Barstool Sports personality to hear his story of why he's just now arriving at the WSOP.
The co-host of the Cracking Aces poker podcast is competing in Event #65: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em, his first bracelet event of the summer. Originally, the sports blogger and long-time poker player intended to grind a lengthy WSOP schedule, starting early in the series. So, why's he just now making his way to Sin City to play some cards?
Mads Amot limped in with K♦Q♦Q♣10♥ and Ka Kwan Lau opened to 1,125,000 with A♦Q♥J♠10♠. Amot made the call and the two went to a flop of 3♦Q♠K♠.
Amot made middle set of queens but Lau had a monster wrap and flush draw.
Amot checked to Lau who then continued for 1,300,000 and Amot raised the pot, followed by an all-in by Lau.
Amot made the call and the two players tabled their cards, with Amot at risk.
The board completed with 7♥8♠ for Lau to hit a flush on the river to eliminate Amot in 5th place.

Sergio Martinez Gonzalez raised to 875,000 with the A♠K♥9♠2♥ and Ka Kwan Lau repotted with the A♥A♦8♠3♠ to force folds all around. Martinez Gonzalez folded and the live stream then switched over to the victory of Pavel Plesuv in the Millionaire Maker.
Both Spaniards then headed to a 9♠4♥2♣9♥7♥ river. With 1,250,000 in the middle, Martinez Gonzalez bet 750,000 with the A♣K♥K♦6♥ and Lau called with the A♦7♠7♣5♣ for sevens full of nines to drag in another pot.

Ka Kwan Lau limped in with the A♥3♥3♠3♦ in the small blind and Andjelko Andrejevic checked with the A♠K♠10♠6♣. On a flop of K♥9♣2♦, Lau bet 350,000 for Andrejevic to call and that led them to the 4♥ turn. Lau picked up a gutshot straight flush draw and bet 1,200,000 into 1,450,000 to force out Andrejevic.
