Halatenko Pots the Turn Against Garza

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Stanislav Halatenko opened to 1,200,000 out of the small blind with the A♣K♦10♠3♥ and Arthur Morris defended the A♠K♣6♦2♥. The J♠J♦6♠ flop saw Halatenko check and Morris bet 500,000 to win the pot uncontested.

A few hands later, Halatenko raised to 1,000,000 on the button with the K♥Q♠Q♣8♣ and Lou Garza defended the Q♦J♦10♥9♥. The A♦8♠2♥ flop was checked by Garza and Halatenko continued for 700,000, earning a call from Garza.

With 4,000,000 in the middle to the K♠ turn, Garza checked his broadway draw and Halatenko bet the full pot. Garza went deep into the tank and eventually sent his cards into the muck.

Travis Pearson raised to 1,400,000 preflop from the button. Lou Garza then reraised to 3,200,000.

"Alright," said Pearson, coming over the top for about a million more. Garza called, and the cards were tabled.

Garza's pair was ahead, and he remained in the lead when the flop came 8♣5♥6♦. The 6♠ turn and Q♦ river changed nothing, and Pearson was eliminated in fourth place.

Arthur Morris raised to 1,000,000 on the button with the A♥K♥8♣7♠ and earned a call from Lou Garza out of the big blind, who had the Q♣J♠10♥8♦.

Both had a piece of the A♣Q♠2♦ flop and Garza checked, Morris bet 750,000 and Garza took sometime to make his next move.

He then check-raised to 2,800,000 and that sent Morris into the tank. Ultimately, Morris ended up folding the best hand and Garza claimed the pot.

The A♣6♣3♦ flop gave both players a flush draw and Garza check-called a bet of 500,000. They checked the 4♣ turn when the flush arrived and Garza bet the 3♥ river for 1,300,000.

Halatenko called and mucked to the superior flush of Garza.

Stanislav Halatenko opened preflop action by raising to 1,000,000 from the cutoff. Action folded to Lou Garza in the big blind, who reraised to 3,000,000. Halatenko reraised to put Garza all in, and Garza made the call.

Garza held the lead, and he maintained that lead on the 6♥A♥6♠ flop. The 6♦ turn meant that Halatenko needed to find a jack to eliminate Garza, but the 6♣ river doubled Garza up with his sixes full of queens.

The flop came J♣9♥10♣, and all three players checked. The turn came K♠, giving Halatenko two pair. He checked to Morris, who bet 500,000. Garza moved out of the way. Halatenko also folded, giving Morris the pot.

The Ukrainian then opened to 900,000 with the A♠Q♣J♠9♥ and collected the blinds as well as the big blind ante.
