Eveslage Scoops to Put Kelley on Fumes

Level 28
Chad Eveslage
Chad Eveslage

Badeucey

Clayton Mozdzen raised in the cutoff and was called by both Chad Eveslage in the small blind and Gregory Kelley in the big blind.

Eveslage drew two, Kelley drew two, and Mozdzen drew three.

Following a check from Eveslage, Kelley bet and was called by both opponents.

Eveslage now drew one, as did Kelley, while Mozdzen drew two.

This time Evesalge led out with a bet which was called by Kelley. After some time in the tank, Mozdzen opted to fold.

Eveslage now patted his hand while Kelley drew one. Eveslage bet again and got a reluctant call from Kelley.

Eveslage showed 97432 for a nine low and a seven-four-three-two Badugi. Kelley bemoaned his misfortune as he showed 75542 a seven-five-four-two Badugi, which was just pipped by Eveslage to scoop the pot.

Break For the Final Nine Players

Level 27
Chad Eveslage
Chad Eveslage

Upon completion of level 27, the final nine players have been sent on a scheduled 15-minute break. They will combine to one table when seven remain before playing down to a winner.

Big O

Chad Eveslage won the last pot on his table when he defended the big blind against a raise worth 70,000 by chip leader Clayton Mozdzen. They checked the 998 flop and Eveslage check-called a bet of 150,000 on the 4 turn. After the A river, Eveslage bet the pot for 430,000 and Mozdzen folded.

Two Scoops for Kost

Level 27

Stud 8 or Better

Nick Kost: 832 / A9A6
Andrew Kelsall: 862 / 54KQ

Nick Kost scooped two Stud 8 hands in a row to drag pots off Andrew Kelsall and James Johnson. The first hand saw him with a superior pair and low to leave Kelsall somewhat frustrated after the showdown.

Johnson showed even more emotions when he stormed away from the table for a few seconds. "Of course you gotta hit a straight," he sighed while Kost dragged in the next pot shortly after with a smile on the face.

Ryan Roeder Eliminated in 10th Place ($7,842)

Level 27
Ryan Roeder
Ryan Roeder

No-Limit Five Card Draw

Ryan Roeder moved all in for his last 265,000 from the cutoff and got a call from Chad Eveslage in the big blind.

Eveslage drew three, while Roeder drew two.

Ryan Roeder: QQA/XxXx
Chad Eveslage: KK/XxXxXx

Roeder was behind with his queens with an ace against Eveslage's kings.

Eveslage revealed his draw first, adding no help with the Q, 10, and 2.

Roeder then peeled his final two cards, the J and 3, bringing him no help to fall in 10th place.

Racener Doubles; Then Triples While Roeder Gets Short

Level 27

Badeucey

Within three Badeucey hands, John Racener first doubled and then tripled a short stack while Ryan Roder dropped into the danger zone, all the while Clayton Mozdzen continued to add chips.

Racener survived despite discarding three on each draw against Chad Eveslage, who discarded four, one and patted in that order. Eveslage showed the 8 / J976 for a "black jack" and Racener somehow improved having started with the 72 to catch 1038 for a ten.

He then got it in with J / 8653 against the 9862 of Mozdzen, who peeled the K as final card for Racener to triple up for 80,000.

Roeder had folded after the first draw in that hand and then battled with Mozdzen right after in a battle of the blinds. Roeder check-called on the first two draws discarding one each all the way while Mozdzen discarded two, one and then patted.

With fewer than three bets behind, Roeder checked after the final draw and tank-folded to another bet.

Mozdzen Puts Racener on Fumes

Level 27
Clayton Mozdzen
Clayton Mozdzen

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

Clayton Mozdzen: 554/65103
John Racener: A74/A7QK

After exchanging raises on third street, Clayton Mozdzen bet every street the rest of the way, getting calls from John Racener until the end.

Racener appeared to not love it on sixth street, but after he called he put in the last bet on seventh as well, and then saw the bad news that Mozdzen held trip fives for high to beat his two pair of aces and sevens while also holding a ten-low to scoop the pot and leave Racener with less than one big bet.

Five Tournaments Fans Don't Want to Miss at the 2023 World Series of Poker

Level 27
2023 WSOP
2023 WSOP

There are 95 bracelet events — the most in history — on the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule, all of which are important and worth your attention as a fan of the game.

But if you can't catch them all on PokerGO or follow along with all the live reporting updates, there are five tournaments you absolutely cannot miss.

Find out what they are here

Johnson Still Leads the Way

Level 27

The action on both tables has seen several medium-sized pots as of late with Nick Kost scooping a Stud 8 or Better showdown pot against chip leader James Johnson, who remains in the driver's seat with ten left.

Badacey

Over on the other table, Chad Eveslage three-bet an open-raise of Clayton Mozdzen, who called. Mozdzen discarded three while Eveslage took two and both checked to the second draw, on which they took two each. Mozdzen checked again and then folded to a bet by Eveslage, who flashed a made hand.

David Levi has boosted his stack with two showdown pots to become the fourth-biggest stack, but all of that can change within one hand in the big bet variants.

Racener Continues to Climb

Level 27

Stud 8 or Better

John Racener: KQ/K439/9
Ryan Roeder: A5/73A8/10

After Clayton Mozdzen folded to a bet from Ryan Roeder on fifth street, John Racener, who was down to just over one big bet commented "Just the card I didn't want to f***ing see" before heading into the tank for almost two minutes.

Ultimately he decided to soldier on in the hand and put in a call.

Roeder bet sixth street and Racener called all-in. His kings did indeed trail Roeder's aces with a low, but by picking up an nine on seventh street, Racener was able to survive with a chop by making two pair for the high.

John Racener: XxXx/657
Gregory Kelley: XxXx/6J8 - folded fifth street

Shortly after, Racener was able to complete on third street and then bet fourth and fifth streets against Gregory Kelley before Kelley folded on the first big bet round to send the pot to Racener, whose stack continues to grow in health.
