Arends Check-Raises to Win Pot

Level 22 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Adrian Mateos raised 650,000 with A8 under the gun and met resistance from Jans Arends, who defended his big blind with 64.

Arends was rewarded for his bullish defense when the dealer fanned 4106 on the flop, giving Arends bottom two pair. Arends checked and Mateos checked behind.

The K on the turn brought some action after Arends checked. Mateos bet 1,100,000 and then faced a 3,200,000 check-raise from Arends. Mateos immediately mucked his hand.
