Deeb Rebuilds Big Versus Strelitz

Level 33
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Limit Hold 'em

As Shaun Deeb and Josh Arieh banter back and forth between the final table and the rail, a hand developed between Deeb and Daniel Strelitz.

Strelitz raised in the hijack and Deeb defended his big blind.

Arieh, the 2023 $10,000 Limit Hold 'em champion chirped, "let me know if you need any pointers," which received no reply from Deeb as he remained focused and then check-raised a bet from Strelitz.

Strelitz called, and then called another bet on the 7 turn.

On the J river, Deeb bet again and got one more call from his opponent.

"We won a good one Josh," said Deeb as he turned up his K3 for trip threes and a good-sized win to put his stack back above five million.

Loman Moves In With Aces and Chops

Level 32

Pot-Limit Omaha

Kyle Loman raised to 180,000 from under the gun and Shaun Deeb called before Daniel Strelitz, in the small blind, potted to 800,000. Loman moved all in for slightly more, Deeb folded, and Strelitz called.

Kyle Loman: AA94
Daniel Strelitz: AA76

"We both have outs," Strelitz called out to his rail as the board came 983. The 8 on the turn didn't change anything, and they split the pot once the 8 fell on the river.

After the hand, Josh Arieh noticed John Bunch's shirt featuring photos of Allen Kessler's face. "I'll give you $500 for that shirt right now," Arieh yelled out.

"You have to accept that. Play the rest of the night shirtless," Deeb said to Bunch, who declined the offer.

"Shaun, you have to wear the Kessler shirt. $500 to change shirts," Arieh responded.

"This is the favorite shirt that I own," Deeb said about his "Trophy Husband" blue shirt.

Razz

Craig Carrillo: XxXx/3x7x9x
Aloisio Dourado: XxXx/6xJxJx -folded fifth street

An uneventful round of Razz saw just one hand get to fifth street as Aloisio Dourado called Craig Carrillo's completion, but then after calling a bet on fourth street was forced to fold fifth as he made a pair of open jacks.

In more entertaining news from the round of Razz, Shaun Deeb's friend and fellow five-time bracelet winner Josh Arieh has arrived on the rail.

A conversation has begun about Deeb swapping his now trademark sparkly black hat with Arieh's hat, with Deeb refusing to relinquish his chapeau.

Strelitz Hits the River to Quarter Carrillo

Level 32

Omaha Hi-Lo

Daniel Strelitz raised under the gun and Craig Carrillo defended his big blind.

The flop came 6K7 and Carrillo led out with a bet. Strelitz called to the J turn, where Carrillo bet out again and Strelitz called.

Carrillo checked the A river, then called when Strelitz bet. Strelitz turned over AQ53 for a rivered pair of aces and a low, while Carrillo had KQ35 for the same low as Strelitz took three-quarters.

With that pot, Strelitz has now assumed the tournament chip lead after coming back from dinner at the bottom of the counts.

Strelitz Creeping up on Deeb

Level 32

No-Limit Hold 'em

Shaun Deeb raised to 180,000 on the button and got a call from Daniel Strelitz in the big blind.

The players checked the flop and turn on the 2108KJ board before Strelitz led out for 150,000.

Deeb thought for a moment and then tossed in a call.

Strelitz rolled over A7 for an ace-high flush and Deeb mucked his hand as the pot pushes Strelitz closer to Deeb in the chip counts.

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Shaun Deeb raised in the small blind and got a call from Craig Carrillo in the big blind, who had less than one bet left.

Each player drew two and Deeb then bet to put Carrillo in, and he called off.

The players each drew one on the second draw, with Deeb still needing one on the third draw while Carrillo stood pat.

Carrillo showed 9x7x6x5x2x, while Deeb tabled 8x4x3x2x, needing any six or five to eliminate Carrillo.

Instead, Deeb pulled an Ax, sending a double-up to Carrillo.
