The river completed the board with the A for Idema to improve to trip aces and Idema fired another bet out. Shimizu considered it for a bit but gave up in the end.

Idema showed one card, Shimizu put a thumb up, and laughed.

Almost a Full Double for Shimizu

Daniel Idema raised from the button with the 109 and Nozomu Shimizu three-bet from the small blind with the A2. Josh Arieh folded and Idema called but Shimizu though he had four-bet so he added the remainder of his stack. Idema reiterated that he had called and not raised.

Shimizu took some of his chips back and when the raises were pulled to the middle, Shimizu put his last few chips in blind for the bet.

The flop came QA3 for Shimizu to hit top pair but Idema folded.

The river completed the board with the 9 for Arieh to hit his straight draw. Shimizu bet, Arieh raised, Shimizu looked at the board, and mumbled through his options. He tanked for a bit longer, got up from his seat, stared at the board for another while, and then reluctantly called to see he was wrong.
