Weisner Sweats the Runout

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Melanie Weisner
Melanie Weisner

There was an early position open to 3,500 and Melanie Weisner went all in on the button for the remainder of her chips. The action was back on the opener and without taking too much time they made the call and the cards were on their back.

Melanie Weisner: AJ
Early Position: 99

The AA7 flop landed and gave Weisner trips.

"Diamond for a sweat?" said Weisner as the dealer was burning the next card. Right on cue, the dealer turned over the K and as predicted, Weisner got a sweat.

The river looked to be a disaster as a diamond rolled off again but it was the J giving one player the flush and Weisner a boat. She got a much needed double and stayed alive going into the next level of play.

"Heads up!" said Benglis.

"2-0 against me, pretty good," said his opponent.

The flop came AK6. With action checked to him, Benglis led out for 3,500 before calling his opponent's 17,000-chip raise. "I'm trying not to play a big pot with you!" he remarked.

"Yeah man, sucks," replied his opponent.

The turn came 4. Benglis found action checked to him again, and after a moment he bet 25,000. His opponent considered for a few minutes, before mucking his cards.

"3-0," Benglis' opponent said, going on to say that he folded pocket kings.
