Welcome to the 2022 WSOP Tournament of Champions
The 2022 World Series of Poker in its new home at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas is on the home stretch and almost all elusive gold bracelets have already been awarded. However, one new tournament on the schedule remains and that's Event #89 Tournament of Champions.
It is a new addition to the schedule and requires no buy-in while offering a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000, replacing the invitation-only Global Casino Championship. The exclusive tournament awards no points towards the 2022 Player of the Year race due to the same restrictive nature and is open to winners of ring events from the 2021/2022 WSOP Circuit season as well as bracelet winners from the 2022 WSOP.
This not only includes the events at the new location on the Strip in Las Vegas but also the various competitions held online on the WSOP.com and GGPoker platforms. In total, nearly 600 players have qualified for this $1 Million Freeroll and the vast majority of them are expected to join the action. The list of eligible players can be found on the WSOP website.
Day 1 is set to get underway at 11 a.m. local time in the Bally's Ballroom and there are ten levels of 60 minutes each scheduled with a break every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day at approximately 5.40 p.m. local time.
All participants start with 30,000 in chips and initial blinds of 100/100 and a big blind ante of 100. With the late registration open until Day 2 at the very same starting time the following day, all those still competing for the WSOP gold bracelets in the final events of the 2022 WSOP still have a chance to enter the fray as well.
The three-day tournament will conclude the very successful series in Las Vegas on Wednesday, July 20, and the final day will also be streamed on the PokerGO platform as well. All exclusive live updates from start to finish can be found right here on PokerNews until the final gold bracelet winner of the 2022 WSOP at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas has been crowned.
