Garza Chips Up Further

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Benjamin Kaupp raised to 55,000 on the button and then called a three-bet to 180,000 by Raul Garza in the small blind. Both invested 100,000 on the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop and Garza then also bet the {4-Diamonds} turn for 250,000. This time, Kaupp folded.

One hand later, Ali Eslami raised to 75,000 and Garza called on the button, as did Robert Cowen in the big blind. The {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop was checked to Eslami, who bet 125,000. Garza raised to 280,000 and won another pot uncontested.

Bensimhon Doubles Through Speranza With Rockets

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Gianluca Speranza opened from the cutoff and Eric Bensimhon flat-called on the button. Benjamin Kaupp also called from the big blind.

The action checked to Bensimhon on the flop of {8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and he put out a bet. Only Speranza called. Speranza checked again on the {3-Clubs} turn and Bensimhon checked back.

The river brought the {4-Diamonds} and Speranza checked before Bensimhon moved all in for around 250,000. Speranza made the call with {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, but it was no good against the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} of Bensimhon for an overpair.

Small Pots For the Final Nine

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Yuliyan Kolev raised to 55,000 from under the gun and was called by Robert Cowen in the big blind. They checked all the way on the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} board and Cowen won the pot with the {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

"I saved a bet," Kolev said and then asked Cowen where he was from. "I am from England," the Brit replied. Gianluca Speranza chimed in "It is the winner of the $50,000 PLO," to which Kolev said "oh, Robert Cowen, you played with a friend of mine there" [Veselin Karakitukov from Bulgaria].

Ali Eslami then raised to 50,000 from under the gun and received two callers. The flop brought {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Eslami took it down with a bet.

Raul Garza then opened to 55,000 and Eslami defended the big blind. No betting action followed on a {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} board and Garza earned the pot with {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Jonathan Woof Eliminated in 10th Place ($11,400)

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jonathan Woof
Jonathan Woof

Ali Eslami opened to 75,000 from the cutoff and Jonathan Woof three-bet jammed a stack of 815,000 from the button. Eslami snap-called when the action folded around.

Jonathan Woof: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Ali Eslami: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

"The implosion continues," Woof groaned when he saw he was against kings.

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Woof was eliminated in a disappointing 10th place after starting the day as the chip leader.

"What a f***in' implosion. F***," Woof said as he left the tournament area.

Erik Bauer Eliminated in 11th Place ($11,400)

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Erik Bauer
Erik Bauer

Picking up the action on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs} turn in a battle big blind versus button, Erik Bauer check-jammed his small stack into a bet worth 75,000 by Raul Garza. What followed was the snap-call by Garza and they flipped the over.

Erik Bauer: {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Raul Garza: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The {6-Diamonds} on the river brought no help to Bauer and he had to settle for 11th place for a payday of $11,400.

Carlos Loving Eliminated in 12th Place ($9,100)

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Carlos Loving
Carlos Loving

Carlos Loving was a big portion of his stack in a heads-up pot against Ali Eslami on a board of {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Eslami bet 275,000 on the river and Loving called before Eslami showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a flopped set to cooler the flopped two pair of Loving with {a-}{3-}.

The next hand, Loving open-jammed a stack of 180,000 and Robert Cowen called.

Carlos Loving: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Robert Cowen: {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Loving was in great shape to double up after the flop of {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}, but the {5-Spades} on the turn improved Cowen's hand and Loving was eliminated in 12th place after the {j-Hearts} river. Loving had a tough Day 3 and lost a few big hands after getting it in as a big favorite.
