Garza Doubles Through Cowen

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Raul Garza
Raul Garza

Raul Garza made it 200,000 to go as the first player to act and he then faced a three-bet to 600,000 by Robert Cowen from the very next seat. Once it folded back to Garza, he came along to see the {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop on which Garza check-called all-in for 1,420,000.

Raul Garza: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Robert Cowen: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The {9-Diamonds} fell on the turn to keep Garza in the lead and the same also applied for the {2-Hearts} on the river, as Garza traded spots with Cowen to become the second-biggest stack among the final four.

Cowen Chips Up Through Kaupp With Aggression

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Benjamin Kaupp opened the action with a button raise to 225,000 and Robert Cowen came along from the big blind. The Brit check-called the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop for 175,000 and then opted to lead the {9-Diamonds} turn for 420,000, earning a call from Kaupp.

Both headed to the {j-Hearts} river on which Cowen took two minutes before he bet 1,260,000. Within half a minute, Kaupp settled on a fold and suffered a minor setback after his recent surge.

Benjamin Kaupp raised to 225,000 first to act and was called by Raul Garza on the button as well as Ryan Messick in the big blind. They checked all the way to the {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} river on which Messick bet 450,000.

Kaupp called and Garza folded as Messick tabled the {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a bluff, which Kaupp had beat with the {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Small Pots Back and Forth

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Benjamin Kaupp raised to 225,000 on the button and Robert Cowen called in the small blind. Ryan Messick then three-bet jammed for 2,220,000 in the big blind as both opponents folded.

With the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Cowen recovered the losses in the next hand against Kaupp with a continuation bet on the {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop for 325,000 to force a fold from Kaupp who had the {7-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Messick raised the next button to 200,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and claimed the blinds and antes.

Messick raised first to act once more with the {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for 200,000 to get called by Kaupp on the button with {k-Spades}{j-Spades} and Cowen in the big blind with {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}. The {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop was checked around to the {q-Clubs} turn. Cowen and Messick checked, Kaupp bet 350,000 and took it down.

Cowen Leaps Ahead of Garza

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Raul Garza and Robert Cowen entered a limped battle of the blinds to the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop on which Garza checked and then called a bet worth 100,000. After the {k-Diamonds} turn, Garza check-called for 350,000 and the {10-Spades} river brought a four-card on the board as both players opted to check.

Garza tabled the {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for the top pair, which Cowen had beat with the {k-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for two pair.

Messick Jams Into Garza

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Ryan Messick opened the action with a button raise to 200,000 with the {a-Spades}{4-Spades} and Raul Garza came along out of the big blind while holding the {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} to see a {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} flop. Two checks later, the {4-Diamonds} followed on the turn and Garza check-called a bet worth 250,000.

That led them to the {7-Diamonds} river, on which Garza checked and then folded once Messick pushed all-in for 1,270,000.

Cowen Gets Messick to Fold

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Ryan Messick opened to 200,000 as the first player to act with the {k-Spades}{4-Spades} and was called by Robert Cowen in the big blind with the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop was checked by both and Cowen bet the {j-Spades} turn for 160,000, earning a quick call from Messick.

Both then headed to the {6-Diamonds} on the river, which triggered another bet worth 560,000 to send Messick into the blender.

Nearly two and a half minutes into the tank, Messick sighed: "Another one where I don't beat all the bluffs here, just most of them. You could bet an eight here," Messick said in the table chat before folding with a "nice hand".

Three Pocket Pairs See No Flop

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Robert Cowen raised to 200,000 with the {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Benjamin Kaupp called in the small blind with the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Raul Garza in the big blind three-bet to 1,000,000 with the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Cowen eventually folded after some consideration.

"This is the dumbest hand I ever played," Kaupp said when he also sent his cards into the muck.
