Hobbs Ladders, Busts Right After

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
James Hobbs
James Hobbs

James Hobbs watched as the tournament clock ticked to 53 players and confirmed that he made the next pay jump. Hobbs then proceeded to shove all in for 4,750,000 in the cutoff. Adam Demersseman also pushed all in for slightly more on the button and the blinds folded.

James Hobbs: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Adam Demersseman: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The flop came {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Demersseman flopped a set of eights to take a huge lead. The {k-Hearts} on the turn left Hobbs drawing dead to the {4-Diamonds} on the river that just added insult to injury. The start-of-day chip leader was eliminated in 53rd place and will be taking home over $176,000.

Ong Runs Down Minor on the River

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Robert Minor
Robert Minor

Robert Minor open-shoved for 2,245,000 in middle position, Dingxiang Ong re-shoved, and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Robert Minor: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Dingxiang Ong: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

"Where's the burrito. Somebody get a burrito," Minor yelled as the flop came {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}, giving him two pair. The {k-Hearts} on the turn improved him to a higher two pair.

"That burrito might be coming out soon," Minor said, filming the action with his phone, as the {9-Spades} spiked on the river to give Ong a full house.

Minor dropped his phone at the sight of that cruel river before picking it back up and pointing it at the board. "That's called a burrito," he said about the nine as he wished the table luck.

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Eddy Sabat
Eddy Sabat

Eddy Sabat got the last of it in and Karim Rebei was the one to look him up.

Eddy Sabat: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Karim Rebei: {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades} and the ten on the river made two pair for Sebei, which was good to send Sabat to the rail as Day 6 nears its closing stages.

Aaron Mermelstein raised to 400,000 from middle position and Haim Or Krief three-bet to 1,200,000. Action folded back to Mermelstein for the four-bet to 4,350,000 and Or Krief called for his last 3,150,000.

Haim Or Krief: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Aaron Mermelstein: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Jeckeln Scores Big Double Through Hobbs

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Andres Jeckeln
Andres Jeckeln

In a three-bet pot to the {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop with some 3,500,000 in the middle, James Hobbs checked from under the gun and took fewer than ten seconds before calling the shove by Andres Jeckeln for 5,775,000 when they got it in for a very large pot.

Andres Jeckeln: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
James Hobbs: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The {j-Hearts} turn was a narrow miss or Hobbs and he didn't connect with the {2-Diamonds} river either to lose a big portion of his stack.

One hand later, David Levine raised to 2,500,000 out the small blind and Hobbs called all-in for 1,725,000 in the big blind.

James Hobbs: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
David Levine: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The kicker played on the {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board and Hobbs stuck around albeit with a much shorter stack than he had in the break.

Litsou Doubles Through Li Blind

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Efthymia Litsou
Efthymia Litsou

Victor Li raised to 400,000 from early position without looking at his cards and Efthymia Litsou called in the big blind, also without looking.

Both players checked dark on the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop before the turn came the {2-Clubs}. Litsou bet out 3,000,000.

"What did I get myself into," Li said before finally looking at his cards and shoving all in. Litsou quickly called for 5,600,000 and showed {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush.

Li had {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} as the river came the {a-Clubs}, taking another look at the board to make sure he didn't get a straight flush.

Litsou later admitted she had, in fact, looked at her hand. "You lied to me," Li said before handing over the chips.

"That was the most bizarre hand I've ever played," Litsou said.

Levy Busts Jung in Massive Pot That Extends Into Break

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Tzur Levy
Tzur Levy

The remainder of the field had already gone on break while Tzur Levy had a raise to 1,500,000 in front of him while Seungmook Jung shoved for 7,450,000.

Levy went into the tank for several minutes into the break as a large crowd gathered around the rail to watch. He eventually called with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, while Jung showed {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and ran over to his supporters to await the flop.

He got the bad news when the dealer turned over {7-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, giving Levy top set. The board ran out {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Levy won the pot and busted Jung, who took the bad beat well and gave Levy a fist pump before heading for the payout desk.

Su Wins Classic Flip to Double

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Matthew Su
Matthew Su

Kenneth Baime opened to 325,000 from early position and Matthew Su moved all in for 3,825,000 in the small blind. Baime called.

Matthew Su: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Kenneth Baime: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

It was the most classic of flips as Su's suited big slick was up against the red ladies. The {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop vaulted Su into the lead, and the {5-Diamonds} turn just left him needing to fade a queen. The {10-Spades} completed the board and confirmed the result as Su picked up the double.

Gerald Morrell
Gerald Morrell

Gerald Morrell shoved his last 2,180,000 from the button and Haim Or Krief called from the small blind, but Brian Kim three-bet to 7,280,000 and Or Krief ducked out of the way. Action was heads up with Morrell at risk.

Gerald Morrell: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Brian Kim: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and Kim turned a Broadway straight to send Morrell to the rail.
