Kihara Leaves Paur Very Short in Very Long Hand
Pot-Limit Omaha
Taylor Paur had raised from the cutoff for Naoya Kihara to defend the small blind and the latter then checked the flop. Paur made it 200,000 to go and Kihara called after short consideration. On the turn, Kihara checked again and Paur now bet the pot for 820,000 with 500,000 behind.
That sent Kihara into a deep tank as he carefully studied the board for more than four minutes before he eventually called. They headed to the river on which Kihara bet 800,000. Now it was up to Paur to go require time to think about it and he even vaulted out of the chair to study the board.
"Please don't show," he said at one point and required three minutes before folding his cards with shaky hands. Kihara simply sent his own cards into the muck and collected the pot.
