McCormick Among the Early Chip Leaders

Level 3 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

In a hand that took place just before the break, five players all discarded one and checked it down. "I predict an ace will be good," Tom McCormick joked and Michael Chow announced just that. McCormick then smashed a {j-}{10-}{8-}{6-}{3-} on the table and that won the pot.

While waiting for the next hand, McCormick recalled a big three-way pot in which his trips sevens and a seven-five scooped it all. The result is a big stack for him early on Day 1 as the third level has just commenced.
