Kempton Doubles Through Heritsch

Level 20 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Isaac Kempton
Isaac Kempton

Michael Heritsch defended his big blind and then got it in after the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop against Isaac Kempton, who was at risk for 385,000.

Isaac Kempton: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Michael Heritsch: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

Neither the {2-Hearts} turn nor the {4-Spades} river were a threat for Kempton and he secured the double-up.

Cowen Drags In Healthy Pot Versus Mercier

Level 20 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Jason Mercier and Robert Cowen once more tangled in a duel big blind versus under the gun, which led to a board of {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Mercier bet 330,000 and that sent Cowen into the tank. He used one time bank extension and made the call for Mercier to declare a pair of sixes.

Cowen had that beat with the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} for two pair and won the pot.

"Nice call with aces," Aaron Katz said to then notice the two pair and correct himself.

Kempton Misses Everything

Level 21 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Isaac Kempton
Isaac Kempton

Michael Heritsch raised the pot to 175,000 in middle position and Isaac Kempton re-raised to 600,000 on the button. Heritsch thought for nearly two minutes before finally shoving all in and Kempton called off the rest of his 150,000 chips.

Isaac Kempton: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Michael Heritsch: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} which left Heritsch in the lead with the superior kicker. However, Kempton picked up a straight draw, flush draw, and had three live cards to hit. It was the {9-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Hearts} on the river that bricked everything for Kempton.

No Bubble Drama as Of Yet

Level 21 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Just before the tournament went into hand-for-hand mode on the bubble, Aaron Mermelstein bet the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs} river for 225,000 in the small blind. Joni Jouhkimainen raised to 875,000 and Mermelstein mucked his cards with plenty of frustration.

During the first five hands on the bubble, nothing much happened. Chance Kornuth got through with a three-bet against Robert Cowen to chip up some.

On the same table, Aaron Katz won two pots of which one went into showdown when Cowen opened to 125,000. On the {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, Katz check-called for 150,000 and they checked the {8-Hearts} turn as well as the {2-Clubs} river. Katz' {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} were good enough to win the pot, as Cowen mucked.

During the same hand one table over, Michael Heritsch opened to 125,000 on the button and Dash Dudley came along in the big blind. The {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop was checked by both and Dudley bet the {2-Hearts} turn for 130,000, earning a call from Heritsch.

After the {2-Diamonds} river, Dudley checked and subsequently folded when Heritsch bet 275,000. "Quads for sure," Ben Lamb guessed and Heritsch replied "ace ace deuce" while raking in the pot.

Bleznick Blasting on the Bubble

Level 21 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

With a little over 500,000 in the middle and the board reading {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, Jared Bleznick counted out a bet of 200,000. Aaron Mermelstein went into the tank for a minute before finally releasing his cards to the muck.

Bleznick whipped over {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, showing nothing among those three cards.

"Nobody shows three without having it," Mermelstein pointed out.

"I swear, I did not have a ten," Bleznick pointed out. He was not in the blinds either.

Andrejevic Eliminated on the Money Bubble

Level 21 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Andjelko Andrejevic
Andjelko Andrejevic

For around 45 minutes, Andjelko Andrejevic as one of the shorter stacks had been trolling that they would be in the money and Scott Seiver joined in, which at some point even managed to confuse Ben Lamb.

As it happened to be, Andrejevic was then the player to end up all-in and at risk on the stone cold bubble.

Dash Dudley raised to 150,000 in the small blind and Andrejevic pushed in the big blind for 350,000, which Dudley called.

Andjelko Andrejevic: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Dash Dudley: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Andrejevic started clapping already with a smile on the face and Seiver joined in while adding "he doesn't even have a suit".

The {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop was devastating for Andrejevic, as Dudley had made aces full. Running kings or a joker in the deck were required for Andrejevic to survive but the miracle never came on the {2-Hearts} turn and {3-Hearts} river to let the bubble burst.
