Dudley Chips Up With a Pot-Sized Raise

Level 28 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Veselin Karakitukov raised to 600,000 with the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts} on the button and Ben Lamb defended the {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. They checked the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop and the {5-Clubs} fell on the turn. Lamb checked once more and Karakitukov bet 750,000 to win the pot right there.

Robert Cowen then raised to 550,000 with the {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Dash Dudley three-bet the pot to 1,750,000 with the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Cowen gave it some thought and folded.

Level 28 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Ben Lamb
Ben Lamb

In a limped pot to the {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop, Ben Lamb checked with the {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for the bottom end of the straight and two pair. Robert Cowen bet 275,000 with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Lamb called.

After the {a-Diamonds} turn, Lamb check-called for another 925,000 and the {2-Hearts} fell on the river. After another check by Lamb, Cowen continued his story with a third barrel worth 1,125,000 into 3,150,000 and a curious Lamb immediately grabbed calling chips before thinking it over and making the call.

The last hand of the break changed the leaderboard as Lamb soared to the top prior to the first 15-minute break.

Karakitukov Gets Some Value From Dudley

Level 29 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Dash Dudley raised to 700,000 with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} as the first player to act and Veselin Karakitukov called in the big blind with the {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}. The {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop brought a check by Karakitukov and he then called a bet worth 400,000 by Dudley.

After the {4-Spades} turn, both players checked and the {10-Diamonds} fell on the river. Karakitukov bet 575,000 with 1,700,000 behind and Dudley tank-called the value-bet to drop a portion of his stack.

Small Pot For Lamb Against Cowen

Level 29 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

In a limped battle of the blinds, Ben Lamb with the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Robert Cowen with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} checked to the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts} river on which Lamb bet 375,000. Cowen sigh-called and dropped a small pot.

"That could have been a bigger pot for sure," Lamb said to which Cowen replied "I just wish I had made the last one two million bigger", referring to the final hand before the break in which Lamb took the lead.

Karakitukov Gets Rather Short With Passive Play

Level 29 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

In a limped blind battle, Robert Cowen bet the {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop for 550,000 with the {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades} for just a pair of fours. Veselin Karakitukov just called with the {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and the {7-Clubs} turn improved Cowen to two pair.

The Brit fired a bet worth 1,650,000 and Karakitukov folded once more to drop further into the danger zone.

Lamb Has Half the Chips in Play

Level 29 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Ben Lamb raised to 900,000 with the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} out of the big blind following a limp by Dash Dudley in the small blind, who held the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and came along. The {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop was all for Lamb and Dudley check-folded to a bet.

"Showed a king, top pair," Lamb told to his curious rail before adding "I didn't have two kings, to be honest."

Veselin Karakitukov Eliminated in 4th Place ($458,016)

Level 29 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Veselin Karakitukov

Robert Cowen raised it up to 900,000 out of the small blind and Veselin Karakitukov used a time bank before calling out of the big blind as the shortest stack at the table.

They headed to the {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop on which Cowen eyeballed the stack of his neighbour before betting the pot worth 2,100,000. Karakitukov verified the size of the pot and once the cards were revealed, Karakitukov gasped a "wow" before shaking his head.

Veselin Karakitukov: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Robert Cowen: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Karakitukov was in damned shape and the British rail shouted for an ace, which was instantly delivered on the {a-Spades} turn to make the {3-Diamonds} river a formality. Cowen headed to his rail to celebrate before shaking hands with Karakitukov, who was eliminated in 4th place for $458,016.
