Gaspard Shows Straight vs Johnson

Level 18

Jean Gaspard: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}/{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Marco Johnson: {k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Spades}/{x-}{x-}{x-}

On fourth street Jean Gaspard bet and Marco Johnson called. On fifth street, Gaspard bet again and Johnson raised, Gaspard almost beat him into the pot with a call. On sixth street, Johnson bet after a check and Gaspard quickly called.

Gapsard led on seventh street and was called. Gaspard tabled the straight to the jack with the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Johnson mucked in frustration as his stack got shorter.

A couple of hands later Gaspard took another decent pot from Yuval Bronshtein in a hand where Gaspard three-bet fifth street and had the best hand at the end to keep his upward momentum going.

Level 18

Phil Ivey: {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades}/{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Adam Friedman: {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}/{x-}{x-}{x-}

Yesterday, Adam Friedman could not lose a pot late in the day as he was crushing everyone. But he has staggered thus far early in the day as Phil Ivey was able to get the better of him in another pot where Ivey led and bet from fourth street through seventh. Friedman called down the whole way.

Ivey tabled two pair with the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} which Friedman could not beat as he checked his cards and paused for a while before mucking his hand.

Ivey Wins Three-Way to Keep Momentum Going

Level 18

Phil Ivey: {4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{k-Clubs}/{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Jean Gaspard: {j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades}/{x-}{x-} folded sixth street
Adam Friedman: {7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}/{x-}{x-}{x-}

Action was picked up on fifth street in a three-way hand as Jean Gaspard checked with the lead, Phil Ivey also checked and Adam Friedman bet, Gaspard and Ivey called.

On sixth street there seemed to be a lot of interference between the showing hands, with each player holding cards that the others likely desired. Ivey bet, Friedman raised and Gaspard folded after some thought, Ivey called the raise.

Ivey checked seventh and Friedman checked behind. Ivey tabled the {k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for kings up which was the winner as Friedman mucked and Ivey continued his hot start to the day.
