Katz and Theologis Hit the Rail

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

At one table, a completed board of {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} was spread across the felt. Christoph Vogelsang led out with a bet of 20,000 into a pot of around 55,000. Cary Katz shipped all in for 129,000 and Vogelsang thought for a minute before making the call.

Katz flipped over {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for just jack-high while Vogelsang showed {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a full house. Mike Matusow was behind the table sweating the action and let out a loud burst of laughter after seeing the hand.

Next door, Laszlo Bujtas opened to 30,000 in early position and was called by Alexandro Theologis in the big blind. The flop came {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Theologis pushed all in for 107,000. Bujtas called and the cards were tabled.

Theologis showed {j-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a straight draw while Bujtas held the dominating {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. The {3-Clubs} on the turn and the {k-Spades} on the river left Bujtas as the winner with ace-high.

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Dario Sammartino opened to 25,000 in middle position, Chris Hunichen called in the hijack, Andrew Lichtenberger called in the cutoff, and Alex Foxen jammed in the big blind for approximately 500,000. Sammartino got out of the way, Hunichen called, and Lichtenberger folded.

Alex Foxen: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Chris Hunichen: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to knock out Foxen, while Hunichen continues to climb up the leaderboard.

Negreanu is Off to Play Limit Hold'em

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Eelis Parssinen raised it up from the hijack and was called by Chris Hunichen in the small blind. Daniel Negreanu was the short stack in the big blind and moved all in for less.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Hunichen check-called a bet of 15,000 from Parssinen. The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Hunichen checked again. Parssinen tossed in another bet of 32,000, while Negreanu impatiently waited. Hunichen still called and the {9-Clubs} hit the river.

Hunichen checked once more and Parssinen bet 83,000 which was good enough to get Hunichen to fold and win the side pot. Parssinen tabled {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} while Negreanu threw his {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} into the middle of the table and ran across the room to register for the $1,500 Limit Hold'em event.

Adrian Mateos

Marius Gierse opened to 30,000 in middle position, Adrian Mateos jammed for 335,000 in the cutoff, and Dan Smith rejammed on the button, causing Gierse to fold.

Adrian Mateos: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Dan Smith: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop left Mateos looking for a ten, but the {5-Diamonds} and {3-Hearts} sent him to the rail, while the recent maiden bracelet winner collected the pot.

Parssinen Over Seidel Twice

Level 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Eelis Pärssinen
Eelis Pärssinen

Erik Seidel opened to 35,000 from under the gun and Eelis Parssinen flat-called on his left. The two players went heads-up to the flop of {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Seidel checked to Parssinen who bet 20,000 and Seidel called.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and both players checked to the {7-Diamonds} on the river. Two more checks and Seidel showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades} while Parssinen held {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for the winner.

On the next hand, Parssinen opened to 30,000 from under the gun and Seidel defended in the big blind. The flop fell {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Seidel check-called a bet of 45,000 from Parssinen.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Seidel checked again. Parssinen put together a bet of 120,000 and Seidel still called. The {9-Hearts} on the river put four cards to a straight on the board and both players checked.

"Just a seven," Seidel announced showing the {7-Spades}. Parssinen tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a set of eights and raked in another pot.

Foxen Quickly Busts Second Bullet

Level 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Alex Foxen just re-entered over the last break and took his seat with a fresh stack of 300,000 chips. However, with just 20 big blinds, it didn't take long for his chips to go in the middle against Elio Fox.

Alex Foxen: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Elio Fox: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

A queen-high flop provided no help to either player and Fox was still in the lead with the superior kicker. The turn and river ran out clean for Fox who eliminated Foxen on his second bullet.
