Katz and Theologis Hit the Rail

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

At one table, a completed board of {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} was spread across the felt. Christoph Vogelsang led out with a bet of 20,000 into a pot of around 55,000. Cary Katz shipped all in for 129,000 and Vogelsang thought for a minute before making the call.

Katz flipped over {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for just jack-high while Vogelsang showed {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a full house. Mike Matusow was behind the table sweating the action and let out a loud burst of laughter after seeing the hand.

Next door, Laszlo Bujtas opened to 30,000 in early position and was called by Alexandro Theologis in the big blind. The flop came {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Theologis pushed all in for 107,000. Bujtas called and the cards were tabled.

Theologis showed {j-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a straight draw while Bujtas held the dominating {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. The {3-Clubs} on the turn and the {k-Spades} on the river left Bujtas as the winner with ace-high.
