Ho Takes from Farber

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Kenny Ho opened to 800 in early position and Jay Farber three-bet to 1,800. The cutoff and Ho made the call.

The flop brought {5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Ho checked to Farber who continued for 2,700. This time, only Ho made the call. The turn fell a {10-Clubs} and Ho took some time before check-calling Farber for 7,600.

A {2-Clubs} hit the river and both players checked. Ho tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and Farber mucked his cards, quickly showing a {a-Diamonds}.

Sparks Avoids Going Broke

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Shawn Sparks in late position was in a pot against Donald Boyer on a board reading {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and called a flop bet from his opponent.

Boyer continued with a bet of 6,000 on the {8-Hearts} turn with around 25,000 already in the middle. Sparks called.

Boyer fired again with a bet of 6,000 on the {j-Clubs} river and Sparks signed before calling.

"You got aces?" asked Sparks.

Boyer did have aces and. turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}, while Sparks showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Sparks likely lost the minimum as he had flopped a big hand with both the nut flush draw and top pair-top kicker.

"Thank goodness I didn't shove the flop," he said. "Anybody else goes broke there."
