Hands #173-174: Holmes Fires Three Barrels to Nearly Close the Gap

Level 40 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

Hand #173: George Holmes raised to 4,400,000 and Koray Aldemir defended the big blind to the {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop. A quick check by Aldemir led to a bet worth 4,000,000 by Holmes and that claimed the pot right there.

Hand #174: Aldemir made it 4,600,000 to go on the button and Holmes three-bet to 9,000,000 in the big blind. The call by Aldemir after 31 seconds followed and they headed to the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. Holmes continued for 5,000,000 and Aldemir followed suit with a call.

The {2-Hearts} appeared on the turn and Holmes now fired a bet worth 13,000,000. Aldemir called and the biggest heads-up pot so far headed to the {a-Diamonds} river. After taking more than 30 seconds on each of the previous streets, Holmes bet 40,000,000 after one minute and 34 seconds, and Aldemir snap-folded in a matter of six seconds.
