Katz Doubles and Gains More Chips After

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Cary Katz was flipping for his tournament life out of the small blind with the {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and was called by John Monnette with the {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} in the big blind. The board ran out {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Katz doubled.

He then raised the button and Chad Eveslage called out of the big blind in the next hand. Eveslage check-raised to 40,000 on the {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop and folded to a shove by Katz, who revealed the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. "I would have called if I had any equity," Eveslage replied in table chat.
