Chien Doubles; Wolff on Last Bullet

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
BIG CHI doubles through Tara@Oz
BIG CHI doubles through Tara@Oz

Anson "Tara@Oz" Tsang three-bet and then bet the pot for 9,450 on the {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop as Peter "BIG CHI" Chien called all-in for the last 5,076.

Chien tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for top set while Tsang had {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for top pair and a gutshot. The {q-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} river blanked.

Soon after, George Wolff was at risk with flopped two pair while Simon "FiestaPagana" Mattsson turned over kings for an overpair. A repeat four on the river counterfeit Wolff's hand and he re-entered for the third and final bullet.

Re-Entry for Chabra

Level 6 : 350/700, 0 ante
Ross_Geller eliminated
Ross_Geller eliminated

Ajay "Ross_Geller" Chabra had seen his stack decimated to crumbs while Luke Schwartz skyrocketed to one of the largest stacks early on.

Chabra then called all-in from the small blind as "LaDouxe" raised the button and Sergey "EvPlo" Verkhoturov stuck around from the big blind. Verkhoturov check-called 1,646 on the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} flop and check-folded the {a-Clubs} turn to a bigger bet.

"LaDouxe" tabled {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for the nut flush and Chabra was drawing dead with the {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, then re-entered immediately.

Journo Loses Some

Level 6 : 350/700, 0 ante

On a flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Craig "mrfeeny" Mason got his stack in against one of the chip leaders in Yonathan "ninoboys80" Journo and they flipped over the following cards.

Craig "mrfeeny" Mason: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Yonathan "ninoboys80" Journo: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Ultimately, just the seven was good enough as the {2-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river bricked.

One hand later, Anton "OMGItsMe" Widjaya and Antonio "nanqtf" Pedro flopped a queen-high straight, as did Boon Heng "CowBaby" Siong. The latter turned a flushdraw on the {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board but bricked to settle for a chop.

NOTHERE eliminated
NOTHERE eliminated

"NOTHERE" was a bigger stack not long ago but the tides shifted soon after. Now short-stacked, they raised to 2,100 first to act and called a three-bet to 4,383 by "Aerius" from one seat over to then check-call all-in after the {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop.

"NOTHERE": {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
"Aerius": {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}

The {6-Spades}{2-Spades} on turn and river failed to improve the player at risk.

A Whole Batch of Eliminations

Level 5 : 300/600, 0 ante

"espiei" was among several notables to hit the rail as of recently when they got it in after the {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop with ]KdQh8h7d] for a gutshot and flushdraw. Yoonho "jnandez875" Kwak looked them up with {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for aces and the {4-Clubs} turn and {8-Spades} river brought no help.

Saariaho Doubles

Level 5 : 300/600, 0 ante
FishIdiot Doubles
FishIdiot Doubles

Leading up to the {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} turn, there were only 6,960 in the middle in a battle of the blinds between Samuel "FishIdiot" Saariaho and Mamoun "Miguadalupe" El Hinnawi. Nonetheless, the chips went in with the Finn at risk of elimination.

Samuel "FishIdiot" Saariaho: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Mamoun "Miguadalupe" El Hinnaw: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Saariaho had flopped the nut straight and turned the nut flush. The {a-Diamonds} river was no threat and he doubled.

5 Things You Don’t Know About the WSOP Online on GGPoker

Level 5 : 300/600, 0 ante

Now through the first part of September, the WSOP Online will be exclusively on GGPoker, so whether you're playing on the client for the first time or you're a seasoned online pro, we thought we'd bring you five things you didn't know about the WSOP Online on GGPoker.

  • 1. STAKING on DAY 2:
    Poker fans and players can now buy a piece of their favourite player's action or sell their own should they survive Day 1 of phased tournaments.
  • 2. Convert Multiple Event Tickets into T$
    After the series has finished, your unused tickets will be exchanged for T$ that you can use to enter any tournament on GGPoker
  • 3. Pick Your Own WSOP Event
    When the WSOP Online schedule on GGPoker was announced, the poker community was intrigued to see a new type of bracelet event announced! Three 'People's Choice' events were announced, with the formats and buy-ins yet to be announced.
  • 4. Best Stack Forward
    Any player that makes it to the end of a Day 1 with a stack is allowed to take part in additional Day 1s if they want to, providing they have not exceeded the maximum number of re-entries.
    However, if a player finishes multiple Day 1s with chips, only the highest chip stack will go to Day 2.
  • 5. Take Advantage of Bubble Protection
    GGPoker's popular Bubble Protection is available throughout the WSOP Online. It's available for all non-phase events with buy-ins less than $999. This means that if you register before the start of play and go on to bubble the tournament, you'll receive your buy-in back.
