Helppi Gets a Fold from Shak

Level 14 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Juha Helppi raised in the cutoff and only Dan Shak called in the big blind.

The flop came {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Shak check-called Helppi's continuation bet. The same action happened on the {q-Spades} turn.

The {6-Spades} completed the board and Shak checked once more before facing another bet from Helppi. Shak folded, showing {k-}{q-} while Helppi revealed {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for a straight on the river.

Landier More Than Doubles Again

Level 14 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Mike Lancaster raised from the hijack and Matthew Schreiber three-bet from the button. Anthony Marsico four-bet in the small blind and Bryce Landier five-bet in the big blind. Lancaster folded and both Schreiber and Marsico called.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}, Marsico checked, Landier bet, Schreiber raised, Marsico folded while Landier went all-in for his last 24,000 which Schreiber called.

Bryce Landier: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Matthew Schreiber: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Landier was ahead with the pocket pair of kings but Schreiber had a gutshot to a straight.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} which didn't change things and neither did the {10-Spades} on the river as Landier managed to more than double up again.
