Mantovani Cracks Aces in a Five-Bet Pot

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

The action folded to Mark Radoja who raised it up from the cutoff. Alexandre Mantovani three-bet to 18,500 in the small blind and Radoja replied with a four-bet to 37,500. Mantovani wasn't finished as he five-bet jammed all in for 113,300. Radoja snapped him off and Mantovani was in bad shape.

Mark Radoja: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Alexandre Mantovani: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The flop came {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Mantovani picked up a flush draw. The {5-Clubs} on the turn also gave him a straight draw and the {7-Diamonds} on the river nailed both of his draws. Radoja slammed his hand on the table after his aces were cracked in a large pot and he sent over a double up.

Love Bubbles in Cruel Fashion

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Carlos Padila opened to 5,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Imari Love in the small blind. Love thought for a minute and then moved all in for 25,800. Padila quickly called and the cards were tabled once the action at all other tables was completed.

Carlos Padila: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Imari Love: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Love was in great shape to double up on the bubble and the flop of {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} showed just that. The {5-Clubs} on the turn gave Padila a straight draw but it was the {a-Diamonds} on the river that would be the dagger for Love. He slowly stood up from his seat and exited the tournament area while the other 150 players are all guaranteed $3,746.

Yu River Check-Raises Melogno on the Bubble

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

This event is not the sort to slow down on the bubble. With one to bust before universal payment, short-stacked and not-so-short players have been all in in abundance.

Aleksandr Shevliakov moved all in when it folded to him preflop, called by Ahsish Ahuja (who made the final table of the PLO/NLH round of each yesterday). His pair of nines held against Ahuja's {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} over a {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades} board.

Elsewhere, a pairing river escalated a pot between Ben Yu and Pablo Melogno. The full board: {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Yu checked and his opponent bet 23,800 into a pot of around 32,000. Back to Yu, who tanked for a while. A crowd of players circled vulture-like, as play was by now paused on every other table. Yu check-raised to 79,000, indicating pot commitment (he had 88,400). Now a serious tank ensued, Melogno with a tough decision at a crucial juncture of the tournament. Minutes of bubble time ticked away as he considered this move.

He moved all-in. Snap; showdown: Yu tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a full house, while Melogno flashed his cards very quickly. It looked like he'd called with ace-high.

Josip Simunic opened to 4,200 in early position and Martin Jacobson three-bet to 17,000 from the big blind. Simunic called and the flop fell {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Both players checked and the {5-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Jacobson led out for 20,000 and Simunic quickly called to see the {6-Diamonds} on the river. Jacobson announced all in and Simunic dipped into the tank with around 55,000 still in front of him. The money bubble was on the horizon and Simunic thought for over three minutes. He eventually slid his cards to the muck and Jacobson collected the pot.

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a three-bet pot, Harald Sammer and Alexandre Mantovani went heads-up to a flop of {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Sammer checked to Mantovani who bet 8,100. Sammer called and the {6-Hearts} paired the board on the turn.

Both players checked and the {4-Diamonds} completed the board. Sammer tossed in a bet of 11,000 and Mantovani called. Sammer tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Mantovani mucked his cards.
