Kaplan Wins a Flip vs. Stein

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Jaime Kaplan raised to 90,000 from middle position and Andres Jeckeln called in the hijack. Matthew Stein moved all in for 615,000 from the big blind and Kaplan tank-called. Jeckeln thought for a moment but elected to fold.

Matthew Stein: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Jaime Kaplan: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

It was a coinflip heading to the flop which saw the {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Kaplan took the lead with a pair of jacks and the {a-Clubs} on the turn improved him to two pair. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Stein was eliminated with his pair of tens.

Bernabeu Doubles Through Yankov

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Samuel Bernabeu
Samuel Bernabeu

Samuel Bernabeu was one of the chip leaders toward the end of Day 2ab, and is still in contention with around 165 players remaining.

In this hand, he opened to 85,000 from the cutoff and Krasimir Yankov defended his big blind. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and both players checked. Yankov bet 155,000 on the {j-Clubs} turn and Bernabeu called.

The river was the {3-Clubs}. Yankov put Bernabeu all in for his last 725,000 and, after a lengthy tank, Bernabeu called. Yankov showed {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} for trip jacks, but Bernabeu had him outkicked with {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

Rughani Doubles Through Cikinas in Cooler Pot

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Matas Cikinas opened with a raise to 80,000 and he was called by Mike Cordell in the cutoff before Vivek Rughani made it 325,000 on the button. Action folded back to Cikinas who called while Cordell quickly got out of the way.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Cikinas checked to Rughani. Rughani put out a bet of 300,000 and Cikinas thought for a bit before moving all in with a covering stack for 400,000 more, effective. Rughani snap-called.

Vivek Rughani: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
Matas Cinikas: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

Both players had overpairs to the board and Cinikas didn't catch up on the {9-Hearts} turn or the {9-Diamonds} river, so Rughani earned a double.

Quadzilla for Miller to Dub

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

On a completed board of {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Spades}, James Obst checked and Cole Miller moved all in for 445,000. It looked to be less than a third of the massive pot between the three players, and Nikolaos Platis was in the tank from the cutoff. Finally, he dropped in calling chips and Obst folded.

Miller revealed {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for quads and Platis mucked his {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.
