Rough Start for Duhamel

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante
Jonathan Duhamel
Jonathan Duhamel

Jonathan Duhamel had a pretty rough start in the 2018 WSOP Main Event. Everyone started with 50,000 and Duhamel only has 20,000 left.

In the last hand he played, he put in a 3,000 bet on the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{J-Hearts}{K-Spades} board. He was called by the player in the three-seat and the river was the {4-Hearts}. They both checked on the river and Duhamel saw his opponent open up {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

Duhamel mucked and is left with only 20,000.

Polychronopoulos Takes From Cheong

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

The player under the gun opened to 700 and Joseph Cheong made the call, as well as Athanasios Polychronopoulos on the button and the big blind player.

The flop came {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and brought no betting action. The turn fell a {2-Diamonds} and after three checks, Polychronopoulos bet 2,000. Only the under the gun player and Cheong made the call.

On the river {3-Hearts}, Polychronopoulos made a last bet for 3,000 after his opponents checked and the action folded to Cheong who ended up calling. Polychronopoulos showed {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for two pair and Cheong mucked his hand.

Value for Obst

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

James Obst was in the big blind, betting 1,250 on the turn reading {J-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}. His opponent called in early position and they saw the {2-Clubs} river and Obst fired 2,150. He received another call and rolled over {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for jacks and deuces. That was enough to beat his rival and Obst raked in the pot.

Joe Cada earlier this summer
Joe Cada earlier this summer

With 1,250 chips in the pot and the board reading {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, Joe Cada checked from the big blind and his lone opponent checked behind from the hijack.

The {5-Diamonds} hit the turn and Cada bet 1,000. His opponent called.

The {Q-Diamonds} fell on the river and both players checked. Cada tabled {A-Spades}{J-Spades} and his hand was good enough to win the pot.

One for Menard

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Giuseppe Vassallo and Jeremy Menard saw a flop for 700 each, with Menard on the button. On the {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Vassallo bet 1,100, Menard raised to 3,500 and Vassallo called.
