No Chop for Josephy

Level 1 : 75/150, 0 ante
Cliff Josephy
Cliff Josephy

Cliff Josephy raised to 400 from middle position and a player in late position called. Joe Cheong called from the cutoff and Claudio Baptista re-raised to 1,500 from the button. Josephy and Cheong called and they went three handed to the {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop.

It checked to Baptista who bet 700 and Josephy check-raised to 2,000. Cheong quickly folded, Baptista called and the turn was the {j-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the {4-Clubs} completed the board. Josephy led out with a tiny bet of 150 and Baptista chuckled and tossed in the call.

"Chop it up" said Josephy turning over {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} but there would be no chop as Baptista showed {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} to take the pot.

Saliba Loses Some

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

With about 3,500 chips in the pot and the board reading {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Matt Affleck checked from the big blind, the hijack bet 1,200, Vivian Saliba called from the button, and Affleck folded.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} and the hijack bet 3,500, sending Saliba into the tank. After about a minute, she called.

The {5-Spades} hit the river and the hijack bet again. Saliba folded and her opponent took the pot.

Iermolcheva Runs into Trips

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

With roughly 15,000 in the middle, three players made it to the river of the {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} board. Olga Iermolcheva bet 5,000 out of the small blind and a player in the hijack quickly folded but the cutoff called.

Iermolcheva was value-betting pocket jacks but quickly turned her hand face down when her opponent rolled over {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.
