Hohner Eliminates Selbst

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

In the last hand before the break the action folded around to the player in the cutoff who raised to 1,200. Vanessa Selbst re-raised to 3,800 from the small blind and Ryan Hohner made it 8,000 from the big blind. Selbst called and they went heads-up to the {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop.

Selbst checked to Hohner who bet 5,000 and Selbst check-raised to 16,700. Hohner called and the dealer burned and turned the {4-Clubs}. Selbst moved all in for 46,900 and Hohner called.

Selbst turned over {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for just jack high and was drawing dead against the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of Hohner. The meaningless {6-Spades} completed the board and Selbst was eliminated.

Watson to the Rail

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

A short-stacked Mike Watson had defended his big blind against an early position open from David Kaleel. On the {9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop, Watson check-called 1,500 and left himself with 1,350 behind. The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and those final chips went in as well.

Mike Watson: {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
David Kaleel: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The river was the {Q-Hearts} and "SirWatts" went to the rail in the last level of the day.

Josephy Chipping Up

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante
Cliff Josephy
Cliff Josephy

The table of Athanasios Polychronopoulos and Joseph Cheong got moved back from the outer featured table, back into the Amazon Orange section. Cliff Josephy won a nice pot right away.

He raised to 1,200 and saw another player at the table three-bet to 3,600. Josephy called and the two saw an {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop appear. Both players checked to see the {8-Diamonds} turn card and Josephy took the initiative back by betting 2,500. His opponent folded and Josephy took down the pot.

Eldridge Lucky to Chop

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

David Eldridge opened under the gun and got two callers. The flop came {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Eldridge bet 1,500. Both opponents called and the turn was the {q-Hearts}. Everyone checked. The river was the {10-Hearts} and everyone checked again.

The first player opened {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Eldridge flicked in {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for identical aces up with a queen kicker. They chopped the pot.
