Cada Slips

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Joe Cada was on the button and heads-up against the big blind on a {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} board. The big blind checked, Cada bet, and the big blind called, creating a pot of approximately 10,000.

The {4-Clubs} hit the river and the big blind bet 4,100, sending Cada into the tank. After about a minute, he called, and the big blind flipped over {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for turned Broadway. Cada mucked and his opponent took the pot.

Brereton's Pocket Eights Holds

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

A player opened for 800 and only Luke Brereton made the call. The flop brought {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Brereton called his opponent's continuation bet for 1,000.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Brereton bet 3,000 after his opponent checked. The latter called and the river completed the board with {5-Hearts}. Both players checked and Brereton turned over {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for the winning hand, against {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for his opponent.

Luske Eliminated

Marcel Lüske
Marcel Lüske

On a flop of {j-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, a player in middle position checked and Marcel Luske shoved all in for about 20,000 into a pot of around 15,000. He was met with a snap-call and the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} he turned over was in awful shape against {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}. The {10-Spades} turn brought some chop outs but the river was a {3-Hearts} and Luske took his leave in the early stages of Day 1c.

Obst Loses One

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

James Obst raised to 750 in early position and three players joined him to the flop. It came {3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Obst continued for 1,600. Only a player on the button called him while the blinds got out of the way.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Obst barreled, firing 3,200. His opponent thought for more than a minute and then tossed in a call.

Both players knuckled on the {2-Spades} river and Obst showed {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a turned pair but it wasn't good against {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

The turn was the {10-Spades}, and Negreanu checked before he folded to a 3,800 bet from Mezheritsky.
