Hellmuth Gets There on the River

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Phil Hellmuth returned from the break with a short stack and the table was moved over from the outer to the secondary feature.

Jans Arends raised first to act to 7,000 and Hellmuth called in the hijack, Vladimir Geshkenbein also called in the big blind. On the {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, action checked to Hellmuth and he bet small, only Arends called. On the {9-Spades} turn, Arends check-called a bet of 9,000 and the {K-Spades} river was checked.

Arends showed the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and Hellmuth tabled {K-Hearts}{J-} to scoop the pot.
