Hampton Gains, Becker Loses

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

A single raised pot between Scott Seiver and Jesse Hampton saw both players take three on the first draw and two on the second.

Seiver continued and Hampton called and Seiver fired again after the second draw. Hampton raised and stood pat when Seiver called. Seiver peeled one and folded to Hampton's bet.

Seiver tangled with his left-hand opponent Johannes Becker shortly after. Seiver took three and Becker two and they checked before discarding the same amount of cards as in the previous round. Becker bet-called and Seiver patted the river while Becker took one.

Seiver showed {9-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{3-} after the action went check-check, calling his move "a very tight check". He raked in some of the chips he'd lost to Hampton.

2-7 Triple Draw

Scott Seiver raised on the button and Chris Vitch defended the big blind. Both players took two and Vitch checked. Seiver bet and Vitch raised. Seiver called and took a card off against pat Vitch. Vitch bet, Seiver called and draws repeated. This time, Vitch checked and Seiver bet.

Vitch sighed and called, and Seiver showed {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. Vitch showed perfect eight-seven. He was left with 75,000 and busted the next hand.

They Can't Stop Seiver

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Three-way after the second draw, Scott Seiver was betting in position and both Chris Vitch and Jesse Hampton called. All players drew one and action checked to Seiver who bet again. Vitch called and Hampton let his hand go.

Seiver turned up a seven-badugi and Vitch could only nod and muck, dropping to five big bets.

Vitch and Seiver Wound Becker

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

Chris Vitch raised and called a three-bet from Johannes Becker who patted straight from the first draw. Vitch drew two, one and one and called Becker's bets after the first and second draw. Becker tapped the last street and quickly called when Vitch bet. Vitch, however, got there, showing the second nuts with {A-}{2-}{3-}{4-}{6-}.

The next hand saw Becker lose some more chips in what initially started as a three-way pot. Chris Vitch escaped after the first draw where Scott Seiver raised Becker's bet. Seiver patted thereafter and Becker drew one two times. He called a bet after the second draw and tried to steal the pot when Seiver checked to him on the river. Seiver snapped him off with an eighty-seven, busting Becker's paired hand.

Seiver Caught Bluffing

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

Scott Seiver raised and Johannes Becker three-bet in the small blind. Seiver called and took two after Becker took one. Becker bet and Seiver called, then draws repeated. Becker bet again and this time faced a raise. He called and both players patted. Seiver fired a final time.

Becker placed his head in his hands and thought for about 30 seconds. Finally, he splashed in a call.

"Bluff," Seiver said. "Pair of deuces."

He flashed his cards and Becker spread {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.

Hampton Binks River to Survive

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Jesse Hampton raised and big blind Chris Vitch was visibly pained that he had to make a move against the short stack, even though his hand was presumably weak. Vitch three-bet and Hampton called.

Vitch drew three and Hampton two. Vitch bet and added extra 4,000 after Hampton moved all-in.

Vitch was pat through while Hampton drew one on each of the following draws.

Chris Vitch: {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}
Jesse Hampton: {6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}

Hampton needed a seven, eight or nine to stay in the tournament and he indeed received a {7-} and doubled.

Badugi

Scott Seiver raised and Chris Vitch called in the small blind, as did big blind George Trigeorgis for his last. Vitch took two and the others one. Vitch check-called and draws stayed the same through the next two rounds, with Vitch check-calling in between.

Everyone checked the end and Seiver announced a three-card five: {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Vitch couldn't beat that, and neither could Trigeorgis as he wound up with {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} playing a three-card seven.
