Vogelsang Spikes a Lucky Double

Level 14 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

A raise to 450,000 by Nick Petrangelo in the cutoff was called by Christoph Vogelsang in the big blind and he checked the {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Petrangelo continued for 325,000 and Vogelsang forfeited yet another pot to drop all the way down to just 17 big blinds.

Holz raised the button to 450,000 and Vogelsang moved all in for 3.55 million in the small blind the next hand. Fellow short stack Cary Katz folded in the big blind and Holz snap-called.

Christoph Vogelsang: {K-Spades}{3-Spades}
Fedor Holz: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Vogelsang was dominated but spiked a pair on the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop. The {2-Spades} on the turn left only three aces in the deck for Holz to deal the final blow, and the {9-Diamonds} river bricked off to let Vogelsang double.
