Paul Volpe raised from 90,000 from the under the gun position and Todd Ivens called from the big blind. The flop came down {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Ivens checked to Volpe. Volpe bet 75,000 and Ivens raised to 275,000. Volpe called.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {Q-Spades} and Ivens decided to lead out with a big bet of 450,000. Volpe called and Ivens tabled the nut flush with {A-Spades}{3-Spades} and Volpe opened up {K-Spades}{6-Spades} for an inferior flush.

Deeb Wins Five Million Pot

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Scott Margereson was in the cutoff and up against Shaun Deeb in the big blind. The flop was down {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and the two players got all their chips into the middle.

Scott Margereson: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Shaun Deeb: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Deeb had two pair, and Margereson had the nut flush draw. It was to be a big sweat with the pot at 5m. The turn {9-Hearts} was no good to Margereson, and the river {8-Spades} secured the win for Deeb. The WSOP Player of the year contender collected the pot, and Margereson chipped down to 1.1m.

Mike Watson Eliminated in 9th Place ($54,831)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

The board was down {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Spades} when Martin Zamani, in the big blind, check-called a 200,000 bet from Mike Watson.

When the river was revealed to be the {2-Hearts}, Zamani checked again. Watson bet 600,000 and Zamani put his 850,000 stack into the middle. Watson, who was covered by Zamani, called and they revealed their hands.

Martin Zamani: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Mike Watson: {q-Diamonds}{j-}

It was house-over-house as Zamani had slow played pocket aces and Watson was the next player to hit the rail in 9th place for $54,831.

The players are now just one more elimination from reaching the unofficial final table.

Matthijs Aerts Eliminated in 10th Place ($54,831)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Matthijs Aerts
Matthijs Aerts

John Andress moved all in from the cutoff for about 700,000. Matthijs Aerts called from the small blind for his last 300,000 as he lost a lot of small pots to have less than ten big blinds left.

John Andress: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}
Matthijs Aerts: {J-Spades}{7-Spades}

The {Q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} flop was good for Aerts and the {6-Clubs} was a blank, but the river was the {K-Diamonds} and Aerts was eliminated from the tournament.

Sam Greenwood

Sam Greenwood has exited the event in 11th place after losing the majority of his chips to Mike Watson.

Watson raised to 60,000 on the button and Greenwood three-bet from the small blind. Watson moved all in for around 600,000 and Greenwood called.

Mike Watson: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Same Greenwood: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Board: {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{q-Spades}

Watson was in great shape to double preflop, and the board was good to him. The former moved up over 1.4m, as Greenwood was left with just five big blinds.

Just a couple of hands later Greenwood moved all in for 140,000 from the cutoff, and Shaun Deeb raised to 240,000 on the button. Both players in the blinds folded and Greenwood needed help from the board to survive with {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Deeb held {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and after the five cards came down, he was still ahead and Greenwood exited in 11th place.

With ten players remaining, there are now two tables of five players after Romain Lewis was moved to the feature table to restore the balance.
