Rast Takes a Late Pot

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Just before the last hands of the night were announced, Brian Rast raised the pot to 6,600 on the button and defending champion James Calderaro came along from the big blind. The flop of {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} was checked through and Calderaro bet the pot for 13,400 on the {J-Hearts} turn, which Rast called.

Both checked the {8-Hearts} on the river and Calderaro announced ace-high, which Rast had beat with the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Yuki Ko and Jonathan Abdellatif are no longer seated and Anson Tsang almost experienced the same fate. He three-bet preflop against Xuedong Li and moved all in after a flop of {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}. There were more than 50,000 up for grabs in the middle of the table and Tsang's shove was for 44,600. Li checked his cards carefully and folded.
