D'Angelo Doubles Through Karakitukov

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante

On a heads-up flop of {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Ryan D'Angelo was all in and at risk with the {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} and his former nemesis Veselin Karakitukov looked him up with the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}. The {5-Hearts} turn gave Karakitukov a straight, but D'Angelo improved to the higher straight thanks to the {6-Diamonds} on the river.

One hand later, Jesper "Kipster" Hougaard raised to 1,500 and Junayed Khan called in the small blind. Khan bet the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop for 2,000 and Hougaard called. On the {Q-Clubs} turn, Khan made it 4,000 to go and Hougaard raised to 13,000, which was called by Khan. Both checked the {A-Diamonds} on the river and Khan announced a straight. Hougaard showed the {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a flush and claimed the pot.

Jason Mercier has also recovered from the earlier blow in the three-way all in and more than doubled his short stack since.
