Nearing the Last 100

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho had nursed a short stack for quite some time and made it through the money bubble. Last seen with around 10,000 in chips, those have since vanished and Ho was among the latest trio to run out of chips along with Orlando Romero and James Douglas.

There are only 108 players remaining and the dinner break will take place at the end of the current level. Another four levels are scheduled after that.

"Everybody Likes a Chop Pot"

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

On the {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} turn, Henry Chow raised a bet by James Chen in a battle of small blind versus button and moved all in for his last 1,800 on the {4-Diamonds} river. Chen called and was shown {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a full house by Chow. Chen had {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for the wheel and earned the low portion of the pot.

Hoang Left Short

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

With several bets already pulled in to the {J-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} turn, Kate Hoang bet the {A-Diamonds} river and Victor Ramdin raised. Hoang checked her stack carefully and folded to drop well below the current average. Next to Ramdin sits one of the chip leaders in Jeff Shulman.

Noori Survives

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante
John Racener
John Racener

Michael Noori was all in for his last remaining bits and saw two of the most accomplished players in the field, John Racener and Benny Glaser, go after him. On a {10-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} board, Racener bet and Glaser called after some thought.

Racener showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for ace-king and a low, and Glaser mucked his hand. Noori then flipped over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} to walk away with the high side of the pot and extend his tournament life.

Full-Over-Full Debacle for Ma

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Within a matter of two minutes, Mikhail Semin, Chris Tryba, Tony Ma, and Daniel Weiman all ran out of chips and headed to the payout desk. For Ma it was a rather cruel exit after he had flopped a full house on the board of {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. His cards were already in the muck while table neighbor Rylen Sanehisa had shown {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a superior full house, tens over eights.

According to Peter Eichhardt, Ma had the {9-}{8-}{5-}{5-} and joined the growing list of casualties.

Davis Quarters Chio

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

It didn't take long to realize why there were so many chips in the middle with Raymond Davis and Daniel Chio in action. Both had hit the nut low on a board of {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}. However, Davis had also improved to the nut flush to scoop three quarters of the pot with {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Chio's {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{X-} only received one quarter of the pot.
